An offer

Jasmine didn’t need long to find an inn that looked promising. But before she could go in and inquire about getting a room she was approached by a young human girl.

“Excuse me, miss, but may I have a minute of your time? Please? I assure you it won’t take long.”

“Uh… sure, why not.” Jasmine followed the girl to the entrance of the alley next to the inn she had spotted. This way they would be able to talk without getting interrupted, and when done the harper could check for available rooms right away. “So, what can I do for you, miss?” She asked once they stopped and turned to each other.

“My name is Ella, miss…?”

“Jasmine. Call me Jasmine, Ella.”

“Very well. You are a harper, isn’t that right, lady Jasmine?”

“Yes, that is correct.” Answered the golden-haired woman, feeling a bit uneasy at being spoken to as if she was a high-class lady.

“And how long do you plan on staying in Veeris, if I may ask?”

“I haven’t decided yet.”

“But you’ll stay at least a few days, I hope?”

“Probably, but why do you ask?” Jasmine was getting curious.

“Would you be interested in earning some money by using your skills as a harper?”

“Well, I could use some extra cash. Do you know someone who can offer me some work?”

“Yes, that’s why I approached you. I serve a person who wants to hire a skilled harper. The pay is pretty good. If you are interested and would like to know more, then please come with me, my lady.”

Jasmine considered the offer. She knew nothing about this girl, so blindly trusting her didn’t seem like a very good idea. Still the young girl seemed honest and there was nothing to suggest that Ella might be a threat. And she could use the money…

After a few minutes of thinking and hesitation Jasmine finally reached a decision.
