An invitation from Princess Madeleine.

An hour or so later, you have retired to your room. You sit there, nursing a goblet of the fine Sinnabarrovian wine King Pierre has provided, and contemplating your strange situation.

Here you are, having travelled to a foreign kingdom. Negotiating with a fellow monarch for the hand of a woman you'd never even met, merely as a pretext to be in his kingdom, so as you could rendezvous with your grandfather, a supposed demonic king of yore.

Well, at least your times weren't boring, you muse. Some kings of Itheria had lived out their entire three decades on the throne, with hardly a thing happening that bore mentioning in the histories. One way or another, that would not be your lot.

You are jolted from your thoughts by a rap at the door.

When you finally make it through to answer it, you are greeted by the sight of a mild-mannered girl of about your age, blonde hair shining, wearing an ornate blue dress.

"Bonjour, Your Majesty." The woman curtsies. "I am Elodie, palace lady to Princess Madeleine. I am here on the behalf of the Princess to extend to you an invitation-" the timid lass passes you a handwritten missive.

"-An invitation to dine and share wine with Princess Madeleine." Elodie finishes.

You scan the written invitation, seeing it describes just such an offer.

"Is this to be a private occasion, just the two of us?" You ask. Elodie shakes her head.

"Non, Majesty. Also in attendance will be Prince Donald, Princess Kara, Donald's... companion, Jana. As well as a handful of the Princess' favourites." the blonde explains.

As intriguing as finally meeting Madeleine was, the fact Donald would be there gave you pause. Your first face to face interaction since the Contests could be... heated.

"What about you?" You ask playfully, looking Elodie up and down. She was comely enough, despite her demure behaviour. "Will you be there?"

"I go wherever the Princess does, Your Majesty." Elodie says nervously, her wide blue eyes silently expressing no desire to be pursued by you. "Though I'm sure there are many people you would be more comfortable spending your time with. Someone as... insignificant as myself hardly merits a look."

Her message delivered, the lady-in-waiting excuses herself, leaving you to decide whether or not to attend.
