An interesting one.

Before Theresa could react, Claire spoke out.

"Oh! You guys just saw the cards, huh? I need to explain." Without looking up from her scrap of paper she continued. "Explain. Ok, I know all about you but I have memory loss. Explain. I can't remember anything but this time I know I can't remember anything. Explain. I know about all of you- did I say that? Doesn't matter, explain. I know I have memory loss and I'm prepared for it now. Explain. I know who all of you are-"

"How are you prepared for it?" Drew asked, interrupting her.

"Prepared for what?" Claire asked. "Oh, if you ask me a question, no pronouns. I can't remember long enough to know what you're talking about. Oh! Explain! I know who you all are, but-"

"How are you prepared for memory loss?" Martin demanded.

"Because I thought about it beforehand and I know what to do," Claire said helpfully. She glanced at the note in her hand. "Oh! Explain! So I know-"

Theresa snatched the note from her hand and read it. It had one word: Explain. Claire looked grateful for a second, then settled into a blank, uncomprehending stare.

Meanwhile, Drew had grabbed Theresa's card to read it. "No way," he said. "A card game can't do that."

"I... I think it did," Theresa said softly. "I feel different. I feel-"

"Like a whore?" Frankie asked with a grin. She reached across the table and flicked Theresa's forehead.

"No," Theresa said matter-of-factly. "Like the card said. Like I just want to be sweet and kind. All I want to do is make everyone feel good."

"So you're not mad that I called you a whore?" Frankie asked. "What if I called you a cunt?"

Theresa shook her head. "No, that doesn't bother me at all. It feels like it should, but I just genuinely want the best for you right now."

Claire snickered at that. "Man, I wish you guys could remember how Theresa normally is."

"I'll bet you wish you could remember five seconds ago," Frankie said. Claire nodded, having already forgotten. Theresa thumbed through her cards and proffered one to Claire.

"Maybe this will help," she said sympathetically.

"With what?" Claire asked as she took the card. She looked down and a smile broke out on her face. "Oh. Oh, my."

"Does it help?" Theresa asked.

Claire giggled, then covered her mouth. "With what?" she asked.

"How do you feel?"

"Great! I feel great!" Claire said. She glanced down at the card again. "Oh, of course I do! Who gave me this?"

Theresa raised her hand, smiling broadly. "Euphoria," she explained to the rest of the group. "Intense, overpowering euphoria."

"That's what my card says!" Claire giggled. "I feel great!"

"When are you gonna give me a card?" Martin complained. In response Frankie tossed him a card, which he picked up and turned over. He immediately blushed and let out a surprised yelp, grabbing his crotch.

"Oh, fuck!" he said. "I'm a dude!"
