An important game of chess

You would need another month to be able to change into something that when clothed resembled a human. You had been taking challengers over the last month in case any humans beet you. Although the two of you saw each other as belonging together, you both agreed that a Human husband/wife for Alisa would be more suitable as long as they accepted that she was carrying your baby and they were practically sharing her with you.

It was a few days until the full moon when you would gather enough magic to resemble human. You catch a familiar scent on the breeze. This specific scent has become very familiar and almost welcome to you. It was the smell of the Human Knight Sir David. He was the closest thing you had to a male human friend. He had challenged you months ago when your no killing rule had just started and lost in a game of chess to you. Since then he had been coming back fortnightly bring a meal for you, something like a dead deer or a few dead chickens, challenging you to chess each time and loosing. He had slowly been improving this might be the match he finally beets you. This could through a spanner in your plans or remove the need for you to marry Alisa all together. You would not let him harm your baby or your mate so you hoped he reacts positively to sharing her with you if he wins. You are not however going to throw the fight, this challenge has changed from doing your duty to winning your mate.

"Greeting David." You greet him as he enters your courtyard. The chess board is already set up. As normal you have taken the black pieces made of stone for you and set up the hollow, painted, wooden white pieces for him (Alisa had a separate board to use with her father that was the regular size). "There is a slight change in the stakes today. Can I trust you to keep a secret, human? Reveal it and I shall hunt you down and reluctantly eat you." You threaten teeth beard.

"Yes, yes you can trust me Gorwen, I brought you a deer this time by the way. " Sir David replied nervously "What is the change?" he inquired.

"Alisa and I have mated and she is with child, We are planning on getting wed after the full moon to appease your human traditions." You explain and Sir David gasps when you mention with child and again when you mention a wedding. You continue "I claim my worthiness due to the number of victories I have won in both violent and non-violent conflicts. The terms of this challenge: the winner will wed Alisa raise the child she is carrying as a legitimate heir and with Alisa's permission will have the opportunity to create more offspring with her should they wish. The loser will stay with the winner and princess under their protection. Alisa may choose to copulate with the loser but any children conceived would be considered illegitimate by my understanding of human laws. Is this expectable Sir David?" You ask.

"You wish, should I win that I raise your child as my own and keep you around and should you win I get to live as your friend and concubine to the Lady Alisa." Sir David clarifies.

"You are correct. Do you agree to these terms?" You ask.

"I accept." Sir David agrees.
