An email is sent. Read receipt required

The employees obviously knew the struggles the company was going through, and Rachel herself was no stranger to the pains of dealing with poor performers and the increased workload they presented for other members of their teams. But like most employees who were already motivated and hard working, she didn’t pay any attention to the weekly emails concerning Axiom and how they would be conducting a four week work study program in the coming months.

All that changed when Rachel received an email directed to her, from the company director, Mr. Andrew Delaco. Mr. Delaco CCed her team lead, direct supervisor and group lead! Also included on the email CC line were three names she did not recognize.

All three ended with @axiomdynamics.org

Axiom employees! A Michael Masterson, Dr. Alexandra Solomon, and a Miranda Lawson.

The email contained an attachment that briefly described the concept behind the workforce development study and a bunch of corporate policy changes Rachel did not have the time to read. The point of the email was to inform Rachel she had been selected to participate in the work study program.

A meeting was scheduled between the email contacts and her attendance was marked as required.

Rachel was quick to ask her team lead, Adele Bliss, who claimed she did not know much about the email other than Axiom had been selected to lead the workforce development program. Her supervisor, Domonik Lance also claimed to not know much. Something honestly didn’t quite seem right about the whole thing, that with so many senior people CCed her direct supervisor did not know anything about the meeting or the work study program. With so many senior level people attending the meeting she couldn’t just out rightly say no, especially not when Domonik told her she was required at the meeting.

Feeling a sense of unease, Rachel indicated her response of attendance.
