An egg

A big egg pops into my arms. I'm not too sure what this is supposed to mean.

"Don't be discouraged Martin. The bond between a summons being born next to his wizard and that wizard is far stronger than what many summoners come to experience. A strong and cherishing companion is sure to come out of that egg."

Finally, a guy with glasses attempted a summon. Nothing appeared but we felt and heard the earth rumble. My egg twitched so I tried to reassure it with comforting words "Everything's gon be an ok little buddy." I don't know why.

Then we saw a giant standing in front of the school. Molly Shit, that was a fucking thing to see. Its roar made every bone in my body shake. The teacher cast some sort of spell on the student who invoked the giant and it quickly disappeared. "To invoke a giant, you must have enormous magical energy young Axel Blaze. This class is a promising bunch for sure."

Before we get into our dorms, interns eat their first meal in college at 7 pm. Ray didn't leave each other's side since we met so we sat together at the canteen. Her long lashes highlighted the enthralling beauty of her black almond-shaped eyes.

"Our promo is really special uh. I knew FUM (Fiore's University of Magic) was high-level but I'm getting excited now." I told her.

"I think you're definitely going to like it here. This school is made for guys like you. On my end, I'm more anxious than excited. Today, during the ceremony, I felt like I was going to die."

It pains me to hear her voice shaking and the huge stress they inflicted on her. This school has no right to treat students like that. I grabbed her hand and said, "We're going to make it Raybelle."

She took her hand back and said "You don't understand." Her eyes fled from mine "We're not the same."

"She's right. You two are not the same," said Rebecca as she sat next to us accompanied by a blond boy. Judging by his blue and red striped tie, he's a third year.

Ray kept avoiding eye contact. The blond student said "So you're the first-year who thinks he can take over the school. You don't look like anything special though."

"Thanks for the compliment. I'd say the same about you." I recognize my mistake but I'm not the type to let people belittle me for no reason.

"That's where you're mistaken. See this Chevalier ring on my little finger? It bears the Malkova family crest. That's what makes me special."

"Does it make you especially dumb too? Or are you the exception in your family? Because I actually thought your sister was interesting. I'd hate it if this ring makes everybody who wears it dumb."

"You fucking-"

"You don't have to worry about me," she said showing me her fingers and actually smiling. So she likes that I make fun of her family or that I took interest in her? "Girls don't wear the family's ring, you see."

"Rebecca, this jerk made fun of me and our family. If you don't shut up I'll assume you're siding with him." He turned to me. "You're in over your head. Trust me you'll quickly understand that you're no one here."

While he was talking to me I felt a foot rubbing mine. When I realized it was Rebecca's I couldn't stop myself from feeling goosebumps. She's astonishing, what can I do? When we made eye contact she pointed to a tree in front of the canteen with her eyes then got up and left.

His brother who didn't notice it left too.

I looked at Raybelle who stayed silent the whole time. "I'm not from a noble family or anything like that. I'm just a normal person, just like you."

She got fucking pissed. She looked at me with frowning and watering eyes "I'm from a wealthy and noble family Martin and I can tell you are NOT normal. You're fucking exceptional Martin. Didn't you realize that they didn't even see me during this whole conversation ?"

I had no idea what to tell her. She didn't want to hear anything anyway, she left the canteen immediately.
