An Embrace from Markus

You enter the bridge. Markus gives you a big hug. His embrace is unpleasantly warm.

You look at him and for a moment you see two images, one of Markus, one of bright light swirling with bits of darkness. You look about the room.

Each of the guards has a double image with various amounts of light and darkness. Rachel glows so white you close your eyes. When you open them the double image is gone.

“How are they getting back in?”

“It’s unbelievable. They can slip through the glass like it’s a door. Any window in the station is a door for them.”

“Shit! That’s bad. Any idea what they want?”

For a moment you have a vision of a universe where the light is dying. You feel comfortable there, stalking any creature you find that still clings to hope.

“I think to kill us or worse.”

“God shall stop them.”

You barely manage to contain your hatred for her. You want to see her fall, see her join you in darkness. You pause. There is something wrong with you.

You know you should see the medic again, but some growing part of you doesn’t want to. Indeed, fucking Markus or biting that bitch Rachel sound like so much more fun.
