An Artist Arrives

Amy wondered if the day would get any less boring as she stared into the open desert.

There! A car! Maybe a customer!

She watched the beat-up hippy bus slowing down and making its way towards the station. It came to a halt close to the rest rooms and a door opened. A young man jumped out and hurried into the toilet only to emerge a few moments later visibly relaxed.

Amy watched him with interest, and hoped he would get close enough for her to see if he was cute or not. But the guy just stood there and looked into the freaking desert! The young woman wondered what was up with him when he suddenly opened the bus again and took something large out. Finally, he was approaching her! And boy, was he a cutie! His ruffled hair alone was enough to make her heart melt!

"Hey there! Uh, might be a weird question but would it be OK if I just sit there and draw for a bit? The light is amazing and I love how this petrol station looks! Beat-down and seemingly abandoned, lost in the desert! An unlikely oasis for the traveler in need!"

"Sure, knock yourself out!" laughed Amy, "You're an artist or something?"

"You could call me that, I suppose."

He put up his easel and squinted his eyes as he looked for the best scene.
