Amy has mommy issues

"I don't get it," said Willow. "Why are both Amys so scared of Amy number three?"

Giles replied, "Because unless I miss my guess, Amy number three is not really Amy but rather Catherine Madison, Amy's mother. She just happens to be in Amy's body for some odd reason that only she knows about."

"But I thought that Amy's mother was dead," said Willow.

"So did I," said Giles. "But apparently she found some way to beat ****."

"That's right, Mr. Giles," said the woman Giles had just referred to as Catherine Madison. "In my case, it was time travel. Though it helped that I got a brief warning about my future from a woman named Drusilla."

"Drusilla?" asked Xander. "Since when do you know Drusilla?"

"Drusilla came to me a short time ago and warned me what would happen to me if I did nothing to alter my timeline," said Catherine. "Quite frankly, I wasn't sure Drusilla was telling the truth but I did enough traveling in time to verify her story and then I realized that this time and place was the best time to get you all. Well, to be fair, I was hoping to catch up with my daughter's future self in Paris but alas, I just missed her. No biggie. I had to go home and change into my favorite outfit anyway. Anyway, I have no idea who Amy's friend over there is but it doesn't matter. You all are going to die as soon as the Slayer shows up. And if that library clock on the wall is right, she ought to be showing up any second now."

"Wow!" cried Willow.

Then she turned toward future Amy. "You went to Paris?"

"So not the point right now," said future Amy.

Then future Amy turned toward her mother and tried to repress the nervousness and fear that she felt. She really did not want to confront her mother right then but someone had to do it. So she gave it her best shot.

"Oh, yeah!" she cried. "Well, it just so happens that my friend Kennedy and I are from the future and we've already changed this timeline so much that there's no way that the Slayer is likely to show up here. So stand down, Mom! Stand down!"

"Why would Buffy show up here anyway?" asked Willow. "At least this early?"

"She got hit by a curse in the world that I come from," said future Amy. "But thanks to Kennedy here, that curse never happened in this world. So win-win for us. Right, Kennedy?"

Then future Amy noticed that Kennedy was shaking her head.

"What's wrong?" asked Amy, feeling rather foolish for asking such a question of a girl who could not talk but feeling compelled to ask such a question nonetheless "What happened?"

Just then the library door opened and a naked Buffy ran inside. "Thank God you're all here," she said as she awkwardly covered her nakedness behind a stack of books. "You wouldn't believe the day I've had. At least here I feel safe. And I really really need help bad."
