Chapter 3
by AlexandraS90
Who showed up?
Amy Jensen (tall, thick female)
Liam took the woman in, casting an inquisitive eye up and down her body. She was pale, early twenties, with medium-length dark hair and an overall "cute nerd girl" thing going on.
That, unfortunately, was about all he found appealing.
She was tall, almost comparable in height to Liam himself. She had to be 5'7, maybe even 5'8. And that was nothing compared to the situation with her hips. She was carrying a few pounds of extra weight. In fact, if Morbius had to avail himself of her body, he wouldn't soon be done with her and on his way.
She wore a tee with Morbius on, a little gauche without having seen the movie yet, Liam thought and a black midi skirt.
"Uh, hello, Severin?" the brunette asked, waving a hand before his face. "I'm Amy, I'm the one who replied to you on craigslist."
"Sure." Liam began, unsure of how to proceed. "It's, uh... nice to meet you."
"You too." the girl responded. "And thank you for taking me. I've been hyped for this movie for so long, but you know how hard it is to get tickets. If not for you, I might not've seen Morbius for weeks!"
"Mmyeah. And good luck keeping the post-credit scenes unspoiled for that long." Liam shot back.
"True, true..." Amy nodded. "So, you got the tickets?"
"Right here." Liam nodded.
"Great!" she smiled. "So... can I get you anything at the concession stand? Only seems fair, you ponying up the tickets and all."
Liam had to will himself not to roll his eyes. Of course she wanted a snack. He imagined she'd be getting a popcorn bucket big enough to block the screen, and drenched in butter besides.
"I'm good." he told her. "In fact, I'll pay..."
"Oh, you really don't have to do that." Amy said, "You've already been so generous, I-"
"It's alright." Liam said, holding up a hand to silence her. With that, he made his way over to the concession stand. Thankfully, there was no line."
"Greetings, maiden." Liam said, sidling up the counter as if it was a bar. "I'll have one of your finest Diet Cokes, and the lady will have-"
he trailed off, looking back at Amy.
"Just a coffee, please." the brunette said.
"We don't do Coke." the girl behind the counter said bluntly. "Pepsi okay?"
"I mean, it's not ideal, but what are you gonna do? Fine, I'll take a Pepsi." Liam said.
"Uh, are you okay?" Amy asked, as they waited for their drinks.
"I'm fine." he told her. "Just disappointed, is all."
And not just with the drink. He added in his mind.
The drinks came in time, and Liam paid up. He took his Diet Pepsi, cursing as the liquid spilled from the very top of the cup. The wee brain behind the counter had overfilled, and every time he so much as moved his hand, droplets of Pepsi spattered on his Yeezys.
"Okay, let's go." Amy said. Liam had to admit, she was pretty cute, facially speaking. He just hoped nobody he knew saw him with her. It was hard enough for a nice guy like him to get a date with a worthy girl. Being seen with a thick-assed girl, being thought of as some kind of chunk-chaser, these things would only lower his social value.
But as they got closer and closer to the screening rooms, anxieties about the girl he was with, or his Pepsi melted away. For the next hour and forty eight minutes, all Liam had to worry about was the brilliant Dr. Michael Morbius, his rare blood disorder, and the **** lengths he'd go to attempting to cure it.
