Amra

You talk with Hwin and Mary discussing baby names for the female cub, as you travel. Eventually, Mary suggests Amra and you all seem to like it so agree and welcome Amra to your herd. Hwin and mary insist on rubbing a bit of oil into her forehead and washing it off with water as some human tradition. Centaurs don't have the same tradition. In a herd when a baby is given a name the mother presents it to the stallion and he declares them the newest member of the herd. You sort of did that as Mary suggested the name and you as the stallion approved it and declared her a member of the herd.

In this time Amra also took her first steps. Her already sharp claws scratched the floor of your yurt as she had not worked out how to retract on purpose yet. Her blue wings flapped when she walked and her tail stood ready to strike but neither appendage was functional yet. She had been crying at night and trying to talk during the day but was still only able to make the little ga ga sounds a human and centaur baby usually make.

This was until the night you entered Vagos. You had arrived in the early evening and been allowed to park your yurt near the stables. You had visited the town's butcher to get fresh meat and blood for Amra to eat. Once she had eaten you put her to bed. Just as you were going over to your own bed you heard a noise from her cot "Dada" she said her first word. You moved back over and saw her pawing at the air with her claws retracted. You picked her up into a cuddle and she hugged you back "dada" she repeated. She fell asleep in your arms. You had a peaceful sleep that night.
