Amphibious Fen

"I think... Perhaps the Amphibious Fen sounds good," you say. "Well, I suppose interesting would be more accurate."

Your guide gives an amused chuckle, "You aren't wrong there. It was one of the habitats that probably had me asking the most questions at first." With that he put up a finger, halting your obvious question. "You will see for yourself soon enough. I will say this though, while our residents resemble a certain species, that doesn't necessarily mean that they... Reproduce in the same way." He finished with a wink.

Somehow the images that brought to your mind made you blush, unable to respond. Which just plastered a grin to your guides face as he turned and motioned for you to follow. Thankfully he was quiet on the walk, though the grin never left his face. The design of the facility seemed rather odd. Hallways after hallway, some of which you swear looped around to a path you've already taken, but little differences told you otherwise.

You were led to an elevator which went down, and down... And down. Suddenly the walls of the elevator became clear as glass, allowing you to see what looked like a whole world laid out before you. You stared in wonder at the pools of clear, crystalline waters, the vibrant greens against the turbid browns. It certainly was a marsh, though not the filthy sort one might think of. But then, this wasn't your average place, and these weren't your average 'residents'.

Speaking of, you do spot some of those residents here and there. It seemed like far too much space for the few you spot, until you remind yourself what sort of place it was. Your guide chimed in to confirm, "Such residents are often prone to blending in with their surroundings, and can range from extremely forward to incredibly shy. A little traveling and searching will be necessary, I suggest you keep your eyes and ears open so you don't get... Surprised.

As he says this, the elevator comes to a stop, and your guide places his palm atop a scanner beside the door causing it to open with a light whoosh. As you both step outside, you can't help but be a bit bewildered by your surroundings. A light fog coiled around your legs, though you could see it got a lot denser in some areas, and you couldn't help but be morbidly curious what lay in those areas.

"Oh, before I forget." Said your guide, starling you out of your internal musings. "As I said before, many of the residents in this environment tend to be rather shy. Though also curious, they aren't likely to approach the both of us. As such, the powers that be deemed it best to not give the typical 'tour'. Besides, a place like by nature tends to be spread out in the most random of ways. It's best to simply allow the guest to wander, and let fate decide."

With that he places a sort of wristband on you, which just snaps on. "That is a tracking device and communicator. Simply give it a tap and you'll be connected directly to me. One final thing though... Remember, stay safe." Then he stepped back into the elevator, the door closed, and you were alone.

Now you are left with a choice, though there doesn't seem to be much difference in direction. Each direction seemed more or less the same to you, but there wasn't any point in standing still, so off you go.
