Jen, what's with the ban to all men?

"It's a long story but, basically we believe men and women are different races, and that we, women, guard the Pond of Amari from men"

That's vague. Could you elaborate?

"I could, but... this is sacred information. If they find out you guys know this, we're all dead. Is that clear?"

The three of you nod in unison before approaching Jen as she begins to whisper

"According to the legends, Amari despises everything of male origin because she sees males as dirty, inferior beings. Women used to be born from flowers in the past. They lived peacefully on this continent practicing the arts, magic and religion in order to enhance nature. Men were born deep in the sea and they somehow managed to get into the continent. When they arrived here, they ****, humiliated and sometimes killed every single woman they found. The women from the past were much more powerful than males, but they had larger numbers and managed to **** women to retreat into a certain valley, where they managed to defend themselves against the attacks. That's where we are. They say Amari came down here, where today is Tevan, and gave women the Pond of Amari."

She stops telling the story as a waitress brings the mugs of mead "Do you guys want anything else?"

"No, thank you, babe. We'll give you a holler if we do" Liz says before sipping her mug.

Jen is a bit jealous at the "babe", but she continues the story "The pond is said to contain a large part of Amari's powers and to work as an entrance to her realm. When the women bathed in it they were given the advantages we have that monsters don't, like the ability of resurrecting like we do today and leveling up. Time passed and the women, with the blessings from the Pond of Amari, managed to get a proper life in the valley. The males managed to thrive out there as well, but they wanted more. They sent some of their prisoners brainwashed to the valley, pretending to have escaped. And women kindly accepted them into their home. Those brainwashed women were bathed in the pond as well, but they left and returned to the men. Their offsprings, and their offsprings, have the blessings of Amari too, but they can never really touch the Pond"

What happened to the rest of the women? You ask.

"Well, they eventually gave in to the men. Amari became softer after that, I guess because there were no pure women left. She created the Sisterhood centuries later to protect the Pond, because, for some reason, She can't take it back. This legend is the explanation as to why the priestesses can't have any sort of sexual contact with anyone, because of it women were corrupted and allowed into the Pond"

Torr is a bit confused and asks "Because of it?" to which Jen responds

"Yes. They were brainwashed with sexual pleasure to start with, and, when rescued, those corrupt women showed the pure ones the practices of sex, which made them give in to the men in the end... That's what the legends say, at least. We don't know for sure if it's true, but we believe. Anyway... weren't you going to tell us your plan, Dan?"
