Always vigilant, Mira took the first watch.

“First watch? Sure, I’ll do it. I don’t like being interrupted while I sleep anyway.” Mira said and took her sword and shield. “I’ll get the bedrolls and bring them in.” The warrior left the cave and headed back to the horses. Shortly after, she returned to the cave with three bedrolls. “Here. Sorry, Lex, we only have three, but you can have mine while I’m on look-out.” She handed out the bedding to her friends.

Lex blushed, “That’s too kind, thank you, Mira.”

“Sleep tight, everybody. I’ll wake Lex in two hours for the second shift, okay?”

Lex nodded to her, “Alright, you can count on me.”

Mira smiled and went to the horses at cave entrance to ensure a safe slumber for her friends inside.

“She’s really considerate,” Lex said as Mira left them at the fire.

“Yes, we are lucky to have her with us. she always takes care of us like a big sister,” Khala smiled, “You’d think she’s the oldest among us sometimes.” The half-elf eyed Ariane with her comment.

“What? I take it as a compliment,” Ariane laughed, “I still have centuries to become boring.”

“She’s far from boring, just not as carefree as you,” Khala said, “Especially when we are on a dangerous mission.”

“Please don’t fight, you are all remarkable in your own way,” Lex said.

“Fight?” Ariane started to laugh, “This isn’t fighting, we are just teasing each other.” The busty elf smiled at him, “But thank you for the compliment. I’m sure you are more than meets the eye too.”

“So you are saying he doesn’t look like much?” Khala grinned.

“I already said he’s really cute,” Ariane said, “About his ability in combat and in… other areas, I’ll have yet to find out.”

Lex blushed profusely as the two were openly talking as if he wasn’t there, “I-I can hold my own with spear and bow and I’m really quick on my feet.”

“Hmmn, precise thrusts and great stamina? Sounds like a winning combination,” Ariane smirked and winked at him.

Not having meant it in that way in the slightest, Lex coughed and blushed at Ariane’s candor.

Khala rolled her eyes and then yawned, “I don’t know about you two but I’m going to get some sleep.” Her eyes narrowed at Ariane, “Keep it quiet if you have to… y’know, find out about his ‘abilities’.”

“Whatever could you be talking about?” Ariane giggled, “Sweet dreams, little one.”

“I’d wish you sweet dreams too, but something tells me you won’t get much sleep,” Khala said and laid out her bedroll by the fire, lying down to slumber.

Ariane turned to Lex, “So... just the two of us left, Lex.”

“Y-Yeah, we should probably get some sleep too,” he smiled at the busty elf.

Ariane rubbed her neck, “Argh, God, my muscles are so sore. Would you please be a saint and rub my neck and shoulders for me a bit?” She smiled at him sweetly.
