In a world with highly advanced biomedical technology, many seemingly insurmountable problems have been overcome.

On a Saturday morning at 9 a.m., Evan Lee(29) sat in his office with a computer screen displaying profiles that looked like resumes, one of which belonged to his girlfriend, Hannah Moore(25).

(Hannah isn't aware that Evan recently switched to this new job.)

Unfortunately, just a few days ago, Hannah missed their anniversary, telling Evan she needed to work late, but one of Evan's friends caught her riding in Evan's arch-rival's car to attend a private party! Where she partied all night! What happened that evening is pretty self-explanatory, everyone understood.

"Interesting, she actually signed up for this project without telling me, don't blame me then!" Evan leaned back in his chair, tapping his fingers on the desk, looking pensive.

The project was called "Extra Partner," organized by an international laboratory. In each experiment, there was a host and an additional partner. A neural diversion device would be implanted just above the host's first lumbar vertebra, and the additional partner's head, neck, and all thoracic vertebrae would be removed. They would then be connected to the host's spine through the neural diversion device, allowing the host and the additional partner to share the host's entire body. Control was typically divided with the host having 51% and the additional partner having 49%.

The experiment was divided into three periods: seven days, one month, and indefinitely (depending on the progress of the experiment). The rewards for the experiment were substantial, to say the least.

Evan clicked on Hannah's profile. She chose to be the host but did not specify the additional partner, opting for the highest reward option, which meant she wouldn't know the identity of the additional partner until she woke up after the surgery.

"So, you still like adventure and thrill, wanting to experience the unknown? I'll indulge you!"

Under Hannah's profile, Evan clicked "Approved" and started searching the volunteer database for an additional partner.

Early the next day......

Hannah arrived at the laboratory in one of their vehicles. It was a hot day, and she was wearing a crop top, shorts, and flip-flops, looking very casual.

"Yes, Miss Hannah, according to our agreement, we will bring you back home before the anesthesia wears off. You'll wake up in your bedroom! Also, rest assured, we are in full cooperation with the police station; you won't have any property loss during the anesthesia! We'll leave your keys next to your pillow."A fully equipped lab technician guided Hannah while discussing some details of what comes next.

Hours later......

As Hannah gradually woke up from the anesthesia, she started to feel her entire body, trying to move her fingers and toes.

"Great, I can still control my body, seems nothing went wrong."

Feeling the familiar touch beneath her, Hannah sighed in relief; it was the sensation of her beddings in her bedroom.

She slowly opened her eyes, realizing her head was slightly tilted to the left, with her vision offset towards the left from the center of her body.

"Alright, I'm the left head."

Gradually adapting to the situation, Hannah groped around her, finding two phones on her right side—one was hers, and the other was unfamiliar.

"Okay, let's see who you are."

Struggling to sit up, Hannah discovered her right shoulder was very heavy, as the other head had yet to wake up.

She turned to get off the bed, using her right hand to support the extra partner's head, bringing both heads into view in the mirror on the dressing table.

Seeing the other head's face, Hannah's pupils dilated suddenly...
