All laid out

It doesn’t actually take very long to explain once you get started. You sit down on the couch as you talk, and Emi sits beside you, leaning against you. Laying it all out, your role in everything doesn’t sound particularly dangerous, at least after the fact. Still, Sam’s expression is incredulous as she listens. When you finish, she shakes her head, laughing.

“After all your warnings about how dangerous what I was doing was, you go and get yourself involved in an **** plot? Andy, are you insane?”

You shrug. “Maybe. I don’t know. I just felt like I needed to do something. I can’t just stand by, especially after seeing the state Abby was in. He needs to be stopped, Sam.”

Sam sighs. “He does. Just…be careful? I don’t want to lose you. Any of you.”

The serious mood is broken as suddenly Lili jumps into Sam’s lap, hugging her tightly. “You won’t lose-lose us! Andy is super smart-smart!”

Sam laughs, giving the naked harpy a kiss on the cheek. “He is, even if he does dumb things sometimes.”

You roll your eyes. “Anyways. About Harold.”

Sam grows serious again. “Yeah. Like I said, I have no idea what happened. It doesn’t seem like he was taken or anything, but his place is empty. I don’t know if he went into hiding or something, I wasn’t really close enough with him to confide in.”

A thought hits you. “No, but we might know someone who is.”

Sam looks confused, but Emi sits up immediately. “Oh! Mark and Alice!”

You nod, seeing Sam’s continuing confusion. “Mark is someone else who took in a runaway Hybrid. Alice is a fox girl, and similar to Emi.”

Emi giggles holding her hands out over her chest. “There are some differences…”

You roll your eyes. “Yes, she’s quite…curvy.”

Sam laughs. “Sounds memorable.”

You sigh, chuckling in spite of yourself. “Yeah. Not the point. What I’m saying is, that if Harold was going to tell anyone, he would tell them.”

Emi smiles. “Does that mean we can go visit them? Alice was so nice, I’d like to see them again.”

You nod. “I’d say that’s the best plan.”

Emi cheers. “Yay! When can we go?”

You think for a moment. “The sooner the better, I’d say. Sam, would you mind staying here with Lili while Emi and I go?”

Sam grins. “I’m sure we can find something to do…”

You laugh. “I’m sure. Don’t make too much of a mess.”

Sam just winks at you.
