Alien Bug: Hylax

Description: A small, facehugger-like invertebrate of alien origin. Armed with a long, flexible inseminator/injector it uses to both pacify and implant eggs in female hosts. To pacify hosts and ready them for implantation, the hylax fills one of their orifices with a potent **** "Cocktail" that is gradually absorbed into the bloodstream. Lacking any real offensive capability other than a powerful grip, the bug relies on its hard shell to keep it safe until the host submits.

Life Cycle: Adult hylax will attempt to locate a sleeping or otherwise incapacitated female. Latching on and penetrating one of the hosts orifices, the bug will pump a cocktail of hormones/chemicals into the hosts body in an attempt to evoke compliance. First generation bugs are not accustomed to the hosts biochemistry and thus, the host reaction can vary. Later generations will refine this cocktail to be more effective at inducing compliance in the host. After subduing the host the bug will proceed to explore their anatomy, searching for a suitable place to lay its eggs. Once a location is deemed suitable, it will deposit several dozen almond-sized eggs combined with a sticky adhesive for proper incubation. After several weeks, during which the mother puts on weight, the eggs will hatch and rapidly absorb the excess nutrition and fat the mother has produced. Within several hours they are mature and ready to go out into the world and lay the next generation.
