Alicia cuts off a driver.

Now that they had reached the main roads, there were considerably more people. Fellow drivers and pedestrians milling about on side walks. There was obviously a greater risk of someone seeing them, and so Erica kept herself low in the seat. The increased density of people didn't make Alicia's driving any less aggressive, however.

“Can't you drive a little slower, Alicia?” Erica begged after she hastily sped around a truck on the road to pass by them.

“These people drive too slowly, Erica. You know I'd rather be caught dead than be stuck behind somebody who drives at or under the speed limit.” Erica processed the lie, knowing that wasn't the case at all. It was clear that the intention was to either get people's attention or to arrive at their destination as soon as possible, before she had time to act on any second thoughts. Probably a bit of both.

Things came to a head when Alicia's luck ran out. As she cut off a small red convertible heading towards a stop light, the cacophony of its blaring horn soon followed. Erica's worries only grew when she saw it pulling up alongside Alicia's car on the passenger side at the next red light. Erica sank down a bit trying to get out of view when she recognized the driver: Cassandra. One of the girls that shared her dorm in college, open the driver's side door. She was normally a nice girl but had a very fierce temper. What Alicia did would make a level-headed person rather angry, and Cassandra looked an order of magnitude more angry than the average person. Erica did her best to sink even lower, trying to become one with the car seat and floor. Even from her angle, she could see Cassandra's finger tapping the glass, gesturing to Alicia to roll down her window so that she could give her a piece of her mind.
