Alexa is Spotted

"Mom!" Alexa hissed, wriggling under the strap. "Close the door!"

"You don't tell me what to do, Missy." Victoria gave Alexa's buttocks a sharp slap over her diaper, her daughter shaking on the man. "Now sit still!"

"Mom! Close the door!" Alexa begged, tears in her eyes.

Victoria just sighed and stood back, tutting as she rolled her eyes. "Are you going to start throwing a temper tantrum now? Really, Alexa. What's gotten into you today?"

"Alexa?"

The retort on Alexa's tongue died a the familiar teasing voice. Her heart dropped as she saw a familiar face, standing in the doorway, grinning at her wide.

"I thought it was you! I'd know that whiney voice anywhere." The strange woman snorted, covering her face with her hands. "And when I got a peek at that bare little kitty when you're Mommy was changing you it reminded me of someone. That's an interesting look for you, Lexi. I thought we were a little past that stage." She held up her phone, snapping a quick picture of the girl on the changing table, winking at Alexa. "Don't worry... That's not the first!"

"I'm sorry," Victoria held out her hand. "I don't think we've been formally introduced. I'm Victoria, Alexa's mother. You know her?"

"Mellissa." She shook Victoria's hand. "Alexa and I are in a few classes together at college." Mellissa looked around the changing room, Alexa still laying helplessly on the table. "What happened in here then?"

"I'm afraid little Lexi had an accident right in front of the toilet!" Victoria said shaking her head. "Can you believe that?" She held up the garbage bag with Alexa's soaked shorts. "I better get rid of these. I'm not carrying urine-soaked clothes during my shopping trip. Would you mind keeping an eye on Alexa for a few minutes?"

"Of course!" Mellissa's smile grew. "Not a problem at all, Ms Johnson."
