Chapter 3
by Wing
How did that happen?
Aiding in the construction of a black magic powered dimensional gate generator
Seth groaned and he cracked open his eyes. He felt like an overcooked chicken nugget.
The last thing he remembered was... well... not much of anything coherent to be honest. The girls finished their spell, the boys imputed the codes and hit the power, then the lights died, the equipment exploded, and there was this big... blue... swirly... thing. All he could remember was the frantic chaos, people wisely running, and then getting pulled off his feet. Then... well... he woke up.
His clothes were a mess, dirty and somewhat charred, though thankfully the lab coat his nerdy compatriots had insisted he wear had taken the brunt of the damage. Still, his clothes probably wouldn't lose the burnt hair smell for months. Kinda like that used leather trench coat he brought that had smelled like cigarettes for an entire year.
Nor did have have any idea where he was. All he could see was a large dark room. It was stone all around and smelled like a damp old basement. The only reason he could even see was the strange, baleful circle sitting in the middle of the chamber, the one emitting the eery red glow that was in no way natural.
Looking more closely at it, he saw that it was clearly some form of magic circle, though not like any the girls had ever made. For one, they drew theirs while this one was etched into the stone itself, for two it was far more complicated than any he'd ever seen them create, for three there were no scented candles or hot girls running around buck ass naked with their interesting tattoos and naughty piercings on display for all to see, and fourth and most importantly... it was illuminating the room with red magical balefire welling up from the stone itself!
Okay. He was in a strange stone room with the... glowing... magical... circle thingy... and no apparent exits!
What does he do?
