Agree to the meeting
“Sounds complicated to me. Why do you want to run for the Town Council anyway?”
“To do good. You see who I’d be going up against?”
You had looked. Mrs Gertrude Mano, Council member for 15 years (one of the youngest), and her list of achievements was identical to the list of the achievements of every other Town Council member. But more importantly you know Mrs Gertrude Mano. You’ve got history with her.
Because her son, Chad Mano, was your high school bully. You weren’t the worst affected by him, but he did inflict pain and humiliation on you. One of your group’s parents, one who was picked on more than you were, went to the headmaster and demanded action be done. They were shut down, because Chad’s mother was Gertrude Mano and on the Town Council, and nobody went up against the Town Council, especially not the headmaster of the school.
{if Cuck > 0}And you’ve met Chad Mano, he’s married to Spencer, and he doesn’t appear to have changed from the bully you remember. {elseIf Spencer > 0} And of course, Chad is Spencer’s husband. {endif}
Revenge is not a noble cause, but it does appeal.
“Yes, I’ll support you,” you promise her. And her smile is reward enough.
“We’ll need to go to the Town Hall next week. When are you free?”
You agree Wednesday afternoon. With that agreed you finish your tea and she leaves. She kisses you on the cheek as she does so, a tender spot you never want to wash away.
