Agree to meet her

You think about it for a moment before you decide you're thinking about it too much. There's no reason you can't just go and see what this is all about.

"Hi Alice" You respond. It still feels strange calling her by her first name. "I'd love to come by, I'm free tonight, so it works out great!" You hit send, hoping you came off as polite yet casual.

"Excellent!" She immediately texts back. "Come by the house at 6:00PM. Can't wait to see you!"

You still feel a bit curious about this whole thing, but figure there's no time worrying about it now. You hop in the shower and get ready to go.

A little time passes and you're all set. You swing by the store and pick up a bouquet of flowers, as that feels like a grown up dinner thing to do. You pull up to Jason's house... Or in this case Alice's house, just a few minutes before the time she said. You collect the flowers and walk up to the house.

You knock on the door, waiting only a short moment before it opens. On the other side is Alice. You look on in shock as she stands there wearing a short black dress, the neck line swoops down showing off a generous amount of cleavage, as the bottom leaves a good amount of her thighs out in the open. You never noticed how stunning she was, only ever seeing her as your friends mom, but not as the beautiful woman you now see before you.

"John! She says smiling.

You do your best to not make it look like you're staring at her body. You hold out the flowers as you continue to attempt to find words.

"Oh my goodness! You got those for me?" She asks in a flattered tone.

"I hope you like them." You finally find words to say.

She takes them from you, continuing to smile as she sniffs them.

"That's so sweet! They're perfect." She says.

She steps back into the house, signaling you to follow. You shut the door behind you, entering the dining room where she is placing the flowers into a vase. The room is set in a way you've never seen. The lights are dimmed and the usual, large dining table you remember seeing in the past, is now a small table for two, complete with nice looking table cloth and candles.

"This looks... very nice." You say, wondering if she's done all this just for your dinner.

"Thank you! I don't have company over much, so I figured I'd go all out." She says, answering your question, but bringing on more.

Before you can ask more questions, she's shoving a glass into your hand and pouring a heavy amount of wine into it.

"I don't know if you're much of a wine person, but this is a good year." She says, pouring a glass for herself as well. "Jason's father and I would always drink this on special occasions. That is, before he cheated on me and ran off with that whore!"

Unsure of how to respond to that, you quickly gulp down some of your wine. You had known that Jason's parents were divorced, but you never wanted to bother Jason for the details.

"I'm sorry to hear that." Is all you can think to say.

"Oh don't be honey!" She says with a soft laugh. "It all turned out for the better."

The two of you stand around for a moment, both drinking your wine. You feel as if she's waiting for you to continue the conversation.

"So... This is a special occasion?" You ask, hoping to find out more about why she asked you here, without being too upfront.

"Well of course it is!" She says excitedly. "We've never had dinner before, and you are a very important person in my son's life, which means you're a very important person in my life. It seemed well past time that I invited you over."

"Oh... well happy to be here!" You say, still not fully sure your questions have been answered.

Before you can even finish, Alice is filling your glass with even more wine. She walks over to the table setting her glass down, you do the same, and you both take a seat at the table.

"Before I bring dinner out, there is something I wanted to talk to you about." She says, gently placing her hand on top of yours.

"Um... sure!" You say, curious yet a bit nervous. "Anything!"
