Palpatine (concerned): Really? He is my right-hand man, I do not think he would be able to stab me in the back like you said. Let me see what you have.

Palpatine (as he plugs it into his datapad): If the proof is truly indicating him doing some shadowy deeds behind my back, I can not allow it to keep happening any further. I will question him about these things myself momentarily.

Lana: If I may suggest, Senator Mothma proposed it to be shown in the senate before letting the conspirators know we know about it! That way, they will have no chance to flee or contact each other!

Palpatine (returning the data container to you without viewing it): How very smart of her. I assume she is the one who found out about this secret. Very well, you may show this in the senate in an hour, when the next session begins.

Lana: Thank you, your excellency!

As you leave, Dantel enters the office. He welcomes the chancellor and sits down in front of him.

Palpatine: What can I do for you, general?

Dantel: Quite a lot my lord. As you might have heard, I am joining the next election, as a candidate for the chancellor's position.

Palpatine: So I have heard.

Dantel (arrogantly): Did you really think you could keep your position forever? By declaring emergency, you could stay in position as long as you want? The senate has had enough of your autocracy you know!

Palpatine: General, you are forgetting yourself, you should double check your tone.

Dantel: Why should I? I am talking to a tyrant, who is about to be replaced by a real leader!

Palpatine: I am the supreme chancellor as of now, should the senate decide otherwise during the next election, I will step down as the law dictates.

Dantel: Oh you will, but I do not think we should wait until the elections. Why not speed up our timetables? I suggest you resign now.

Palpatine: I believe you forget, that the people have elected me, as supreme chancellor, when Valorum was **** to resign, and it was not you.

Dantel: People chose nothing, you were elected by a privileged and selected few, who were easy enough to manipulate into making a bad decision, a decision, that haunts us to this day!

Palpatine: I am sorry general, I am afraid I can not follow you.

Dantel: You really thought you could get away with this, did you not?

Palpatine: What are you implying?

Dantel: Oh nothing, nothing really... Except that you thought us all blind and deaf. As a long time general of the Republic, I have connections in the Republic and the CIS as well. Palpatine goes silent at this and turns around with his chair to stare out his window.

Palpatine (with a deeper voice, still staring out the window): You have no idea what you have gotten yourself into, general.

As Palpatine says his words, the general falls from the chair onto the floor and dies.

Palpatine (to himself): You were right about one thing though. We do need to speed up the timetables.

Palpatine (sending a transmission to Dooku and Grievous): Generals, the time has come. Prepare the **** on Coruscant as soon as possible, I want the city to burn.

Dooku and Grievous: Yes, my lord!
