Agni Kai

The day had come and 'Ursa' felt ready. Taking a deep breath she had entered the arena wearing the traditional female attire for an Agni Kai. She looked around the stands seeing her children and her heart clenched when she saw them. "Relax," Vaatu whispered in her ears. "After today, they will see how strong there mother is, how she can protect them."

She eased under his words and smiled to her children waving to them as a sign of relief. They still looked terrified but at least they had Iroh beside them to comfort them. He had returned but Ursa hadn't spoken to him since she was still occupied with preparing. Iroh for the most part looked just worried as her kids but he hid it better.

Glancing to her side she saw Ozai entering, a malicious smile adorn his face. In the old days an Agni Kai would only last till one opponent burnt another, but Sozin had started pushing for it to lead more to **** due his warring nature, and she knew very well Ozai would love to continue such a legacy. He was not going to end this quick and painlessly. He'd burn her beyond recognition, killing her even and then he'd do the same to her children. She can already see him looking for excuses to burn Zuko and then to mold Azula into his twisted vision of a perfect child. She'd stop him here.

"Are you ready?" Vaatu asked.

"Yes," Ursa responded as she felt Vaatu take control of her body. Her lips curled into a confident smiles as they turned to face her husband. Their eyes narrowing on him.

"You will pay," They licked their lips.

The two combatants soon got into position. They turned to face each other and the gong rang.

Ozai wasted no time throwing blast after blast at her. Yet each strike never hit, Ursa, stood her ground and kept deflecting and parrying each strike. She had yet to throw her own but she'd wait. Ozai was relentless after all, and she needed to finish this in a specific way.

Eventually Ozai had paused to take a break. His onslaught hadn't moved her but he had tired himself a bit letting his rage overwhelm him. 'Ursa' smiled at this. For all his talk about Azula being perfect. He was still sloppy for himself. Firebending required restraint but Ozai barely had any of that to begin with.

"Is that all dear?" Ursa mocked. "Surely you aren't holding back for my sake," She taunted. She could see his face scrunch in anger. He did not like his abilities being questioned. She knew he was already fuming over not being able to destroy her so easily and now he was even angrier.

Just as she predicted Ozai rushed towards her, using his flames to boost him. If he couldn't beat her by blasting her off the stage then he'd just get up close and personal with it. She knew it was coming, he was the one who also sparred with Azula after all and taught their daughter some of his tricks. She also knew many from experience having seen him fight with her own eyes many times.

He came close and tried to fight her close quarters but while strong, Ursa, with Vaatu in charged was faster. She effortless dodge all his strikes and dispersed all his flames. Once more she refused to throw any fire of her own, instead making a mockery of Ozai. He couldn't even touch his wife now, no matter how much he tried, a fact everyone saw. Then right as she dodged another one of his attacks, she sweeped his leg throwing him to the floor.

"Hahaha....oh my...is this your best dear? Come on now....you can do better...if not...well..." She continued. She turned to her kids. " Zuko, Azula, do you think your teachers will be willing to give your father some lessons." She mockingly asked as she continued to laugh at Ozai.

It was hear Ursa made her worst mistake. Ozai was not a kind man, that much was true. He would win at any cost. So when he saw Ursa speaking to their kids he knew what he would need to do to win. He stood up once more and composed himself. Then he tried to do throw his attacks once more, Ursa dodged like he had expected but she let herself ignore the rest of field. Ozai then sent a powerful blast, not at Ursa but at their children in the stand.

Ursa's eyes widen in shock as she turned and tried to deflect the fire away from her children. But Ozai shot her in the back. Collapse fell and could only watch as the flame travelled to strike Zuko and Azula. Her eyes widened in fear as everything she was afraid of nearly came to be.

Then Iroh stepped in and dispersed the flames. "Ozai, have you no shame," Iroh called out, fury in his eyes.

"My apologies brother, it was an accident," Ozai feigned when he noticed everyone looking at him. "I had not realized where my attacks were going."

"Liar," Ursa growled as she stood back up and turned to face Ozai.

"Come on dear, this is agni kai, it is expected that a few stray shots will leave the arena," Ozai taunted. "They should know better...you obviously don't." Ozai said.

Ursa clenched her teeth and Vaatu fueled her anger. She despised this man even more. She will make him pay for his crimes right here, right now. Royalty be damned she was going to punish him. No one would dare hurt her kids and get away with it.

"Now, I'll finish this." Ozai said as she threw another fireblast at Ursa, stronger than all the others.

"NO! I'LL FINSIH THIS!" Ursa growled as she threw her own fist forward. From her hands emerged bright flames, flames that just kept growing and growing. They burned with all her rage, eclipsing Ozai's fire in both size and power. The attack swallowed Ozai's flames whole but it didn't stop, it soon engulfed the Arena, taking Ozai with it as it enveloped the entire battle ground.

She could hear Ozai's screams, clear as day. It was music to her hears so she continued to let it play. When she stopped, Ozai's body now charred completed black fell to the ground before her. Everyone had gasped at the sight before him. Never has such a display of fire bending ever been seen. Ursa wasn't finished though.

She sauntered up to Ozai's form, still somehow alive but unable to move. She kicked him off his his knees and onto his back. Ozai could only look up in fear as Ursa's eyes were practically glowing with power. "Listen to me Ozai," she commanded as she stamped her foot onto his crotch. Her foot ignited with blue flames as she pressed it into him. She bent over bringing her face close to his.

"I....win," Ursa declared.
