You spin around swiftly, knocking off Adam's hand from your shoulder and look him in the eyes.

“Don't fucking touch me,” you state, with intent to kill in your eyes.

It's not that you didn't see it coming, it's just that you didn't expect it to hit so hard. The first punch just grazes your chin but you notice too late that it was a feint, when the second punch comes up and hits you square in the chest, doubling you over and expelling the last bit of choked air from your chest.

It was a fucking huge hit. Outside of having the wind knocked from you, which you always hate, you notice a fair amount of pain with the chest shot, which is something you aren't exactly used to. Adrenaline pulses through your body and you gain a buzz that you've felt very few times in your life.

You stand straight, eyes locked onto him with rage. You didn't notice the other islanders around you, watching with both fear and curiousity of what would come of this situation.

Your rage kicked in. Without thinking you throw an obvious right hook, which misses as Adam ducks under, clearly anticipating your move. He throws a smirk at you and opens his arms in a mocking way.

“Come on then, you pussy.” He taunted.

This isn't going to work. He has more experience with these fights. He's used to all of these classic boxing moves and knows how to counter them, but this is different. There are no rules.

You pull up your guard again and start walking in, then throw a hard kick to his knee. He buckles instantly and loses his balance, going down on one knee. Seizing the opportunity, you rush in and lift your arm high, then bring your elbow down hard on his head. Again and again, you use the hard part of your arm to get him on the floor until you're throwing a flurry of punches at a screaming snake on the floor.

Blood covers your knuckles and it's not yours. A huge gash above Adam's eye is where it's from and he deserves every bit of it. You get up, your chest hurting even more than before as your adrenaline wears off.

“Pussy,” you mutter under your breath.

The rest of the the islanders are looking at the scene in shock. Adam's bloody body laying on the floor with you standing over it. He's still alive and breathing, making the occasional groan which makes you want to stamp on him.

“Don't move,” commands a deep voice.

You look up and two of the other boys are moving towards you, one holding your knife, and you know it's not safe here. You need to go.

“Bro, just chill out for a moment and sit down,” says Roman.

“You really think I hid all that stuff don't you?” You ask.

“You almost killed Adam!” Shouts Michelle.

“That prick deserved it, plus he's fine.” You retort, glancing over to Adam attempting to get on his feet.

Will is moving closer to you and he's holding your knife. He wasn't sure about you being a danger before but the look in his eyes now is saying otherwise. You can't take him on if he has a knife, there's just no way.

Your eyes dart to the jungle. There you'll have freedom and you know they won't follow you in.

“Fuck this, you'll see Adam for who he really is soon,” you start. “You won't realise how much you need me until I'm gone.”

You look at Amber, the one person that might believe your story. No. You need to figure this out on your own, she can't solve all your problems.

You turn and start running, making a beeline for the camp first, the others following after you but none of them even close. They're all shouting after you but you're not listening. Right now you only have one thing on your mind. Survival.

You grab the tomahawk from the stash near the camp, looking back and hearing the other islanders running after you and shouting obscenities at you. Realising you don’t have enough time to take anything else, you turn back and run towards the jungle.
