Afternoon 1:1 Session with Kira

You follow the directions on the map to the Engineering Floor, descending a flight of stairs to a level humming with activity. The air is filled with the faint scent of metal and the whirr of machinery. As you navigate through the floor, you finally spot Kira, focused intently on a project layout displayed on the floor.

"Hey, Kira," you say, trying to break the ice. "What’re you working on?"

She glances at you, her expression unreadable. "You wouldn’t be able to understand anyways," she replies curtly.

"Maybe, but I’d like to hear about it," you insist, keeping your tone light.

She sighs, clearly **** but decides to indulge you. "I’m working on a new project for everyone’s smartwatches."

"Smartwatches? Why don’t I have one?" you ask.

Kira doesn’t look up, her voice tinged with irritation as she responds, "It's in my room."

You grin, deciding to push your luck. "Maybe we can go up to your room together later to get it?"

"Absolutely not," she snaps back, her eyes narrowing.

You chuckle, deciding to tease her a bit. "What, got something naughty to hide?"

Her face flushes with anger. "You're the only pervert here."

You smirk. "If you say so," you reply sarcastically.

"Fine, I have nothing to hide," she says stubbornly. "We’ll go get it later."

Satisfied, you take a seat nearby, watching her work. She continues her task, occasionally glancing at you every few minutes. After a while, she finally caves.

"Are you just going to sit there?" she asks.

You smile. "Are you going to finally tell me about your work?"

She rolls her eyes but starts explaining the general concept of her project. "I'm building a video call app for the smartwatches. I need to get it to work even when we’re miles apart on the planet."

"Impressive," you say. It definitely didn't seem like an easy task.

Kira continues to explain the intricacies of her project, detailing how the app will function and the challenges she’s facing. She also shares stories of her previous projects, and you find yourself fascinated by her technical prowess. The hours pass as she dives into the technical details, her passion for her work evident.

Finally, she decides to take a break, leaning back and stretching. You seize the moment to ask a lingering question. "Why are all these projects happening now? Why weren't they finished back on Earth?"

Kira stands up and puts her hands on her hips. "The whole Project: Breed was pretty sudden. We needed DOT to accumulate information on her own, and our level of technology wasn’t advanced enough for certain things," she explains.

You nod, absorbing the information. "Makes sense. Hey, if you're taking a break, can we go get my watch now from your room?" you suggest.

Kira sighs but relents. "Fine. Since you won't shut up about it."
