Daniel Ravers groaned as he woke up. Unsurprisingly, Audrey was gone. She was always an early riser, while Daniel frequently slept in.

Daniel got out of bed, and headed towards the closet to get dressed. After brushing his teeth, he headed out into the living room, to find Sarah Woodsen sitting on the couch, reading a book that Daniel recognized as one of Damon’s trashy erotic mystery novels.

Despite how trashy they were, Daniel had read all of the ones Damon suggested.

“Enjoying the book?” Daniel asked, and plopped down on the couch opposite where Sarah was sitting.

“Yeah. Damon left it behind when he left the cabin, so I decided to capitalize. I’m bored anyways. Monica went to take a nap, Robert disappeared to who knows where with Audrey and Brooke. I’m pretty sure Taylor’s in her room, and I have no clue where the hell Zack is.” Sarah shrugged.

“My wife disappeared with my brother and his ex-wife? That sounds like a recipe for disaster.” Daniel grumbled.

“Please. You and I both know Robert would never touch Audrey.” Sarah scoffed.

“Oh, I know that. I meant that there’s going to be a fight. Audrey’s... she’s not one to sit quietly in front of drama, and hanging out with two divorced people couldn’t be more dramatic.” Daniel said.

Sarah laughed.

“True.” she smiled.

“So. How was your camping trip?” Daniel prompted.

“Good. Yeah, I had a lot of fun with Zack and Monica. Brooke, too, of course.” Sarah nodded.

“Great! I heard you were going to see Zaffre Falls, right?” Daniel checked.

“We were going to, but Monica was too sore. From the hike.” Sarah explained.

“Ah. Where’d you guys end up camping out?” Daniel asked curiously.

“Hangman Hill.” Sarah answered.

“Up by the pond?” Daniel asked.

“Yup.” Sarah nodded.

———

Robert walked out of the bathroom and beheld the sight in his private hot tub. Audrey Ravers, his sister-in-law, and his ex-wife Brooke Lakefield were sitting in the hot tub in their bikinis. Audrey held a mimosa in her hand, and the two women were chatting idly.

Robert moved to sit down in the hot tub, and did so, letting out a small sigh at how good the hot water felt on his lower half.

“So, Robbie. Any girlfriend in your life? I was surprised you didn’t have some arm candy when I got here.” Audrey confessed. Robert laughed.

“Well, I am dating someone. Her name is Leah Green. She works for me. She’s my secretary, actually.” Robert grinned.

“How old is she?” Brooke asked quietly.

“She’s young. Only 28.” Robert admitted.

“Wow. Banging your hot young secretary, huh? How long’s that been going on for?” Audrey asked bluntly.

“Not long. We just hit two months. I haven’t... well, I haven’t even told Heather yet.” Robert shrugged.

“You should.” Brooke said quietly. Robert glanced at his ex-wife.

“I know. I’m sure Leah would be happy to not have to sneak around. And Heather’s supportive. I don’t really know what I’m worried about, I just... I feel the need to keep her secret.” Robert shrugged.

“Probably because she’s like, half your age.” Audrey suggested.

“No, that’s not really that much of a change of pace.” Robert shook his head. Audrey laughed.

“I’m sorry, Brooke. This must be... well, this must be very awkward.” Robert apologized.

“Oh, not at all. I’ve long since moved on from you, Robert. I’ve got my eye on a younger man as well.” Brooke revealed, grinning.

“Oh? Who’s the lucky devil?” Audrey asked eagerly.

“That’s a secret.” Brooke winked.

“How young are we talking? You’re not cradle-robbing, are you?” Audrey pushed.

“No! No, he’s a legal adult.” Brooke said.

“The way you said that makes it seem like he’s just barely a legal adult.” Robert pointed out. Brooke shrugged.

“So what if he is?” she said.

“Hmm... do we know the person?” Audrey asked.

“I think so.” Brooke nodded.

“You think so, huh? Hmm... maybe he’s a Ravers Enterprises employee?” Robert mused.

“Ooh, that’d be funny if you’re both dating Ravers Enterprises employees.” Audrey laughed.

“Oh, I’m not dating him. Well, not yet, at least. He, uh, he has a girlfriend.” Brooke sighed.

“And? Brooke Lakefield, you are an absolute cougar. I want you to be brave and get what you want. Ok? And if that powerful speech doesn’t help you, just flash your tits and he’ll be all over you.” Audrey shrugged. Robert coughed violently.

Gabriella Lockett placed her pile of panties into her suitcase, and was grabbing her bras when a knock came at the door. She turned, bras still in hand, and saw that it was her son, Jared, who stood at the door.

“Hey, Jared. What’s up?” Gabriella asked as she placed the bras in her suitcase.

“Nothing. Just came to tell you that I finished packing. I’m all set for tomorrow.” Jared said.

“Oh, really? You were responsible, huh?” Gabriella squinted suspiciously. Jared laughed easily.

“Nah, I’m just excited to see Zack and Logan again. We were tight as kids.” Jared explained.

“You still see each other sometimes.” Gabriella frowned.

“True. But that’s different than spending a week at a cabin with them.” Jared shrugged.

“Yup. You’re probably rooming with one of them, anyways. Brandon and Gavin both had to leave. Brandon left because he got into a fight with Zack, and Gavin got hurt doing something. I heard Diane is coddling him.” Gabriella said.

“I’m sure she is.” Jared laughed, “So, you ready to see Aunt Sarah?”

“Yes! It’s been a while since I got to see her. And Damon’s not even there either, so I’m not competing with a man for her attention.” Gabriella said delightedly. Jared snorted.

“So, you got your eyes on any of the girls there?” Gabriella asked her son curiously.

“Jeez, Mom. Uh, no, not really. I only really know Chloe, and she’s head over heels for Zack.” Jared shrugged.

“You know Ashley.” Gabriella pointed out.

“Yeah, and she’s dating Brandon, isn’t she?” Jared asked.

“I think so. Unless they broke up at the cabin. News really doesn’t travel fast out of there, does it?” Gabriella mused.

“No it does not.” Jared agreed.

“So, how is everybody else doing with packing?” Gabriella questioned her son.

“Good. They all came packed anyways, because they don’t live here, so they just had to re-pack whatever they took out since they got here.” Jared shrugged.

“You getting along with Sharon?” Gabriella asked.

“Actively avoiding, more like.” Jared grumbled. Gabriella giggled, but then she snapped out of it.

“That’s not nice, Jared.” Gabriella chided half-heartedly.

Jared chuckled.

“She’s a Kurt girl anyway. Through and through.” Jared shrugged.

“Ew. He’s a womanizing bastard. I wouldn’t let him touch me with a fifty foot pole.” Gabriella wrinkled her nose.

“Mom, gross!” Jared groaned. Gabriella laughed.

“Sorry, sweetie. I always forget to filter.” she shrugged. Jared gave her a look that very clearly said ‘I know’.

A/N Bit of a shorter chapter today, but I thought it might be interesting to see how the adults are faring while (most of) the teens are hanging out at the arcade. And then Jared made an appearance just because.

If everybody reading this could do me a favor and comment their favorite girl that’s been in my branch so far, that’d be much appreciated. I have some ideas for different girls, and I’m trying to gauge who to prioritize. I might bust out an actual poll later, but for now, just leave a comment.

Thanks!
