Adolphus

Adolphus, you think, might be a good person to have with you. He must be familiar with all of these landlords already, after all, and his age might lend you a bit of the gravitas you want to summon. You head down to the main house in search of him.

You find him out in the fields already, overseeing the beginning of the day's work. "Adolphus!" you call out as you approach. He finishes his brief conversation with a ****, then turns and approaches you.

"Yes, Lord Gaius?"

Adolphus hesitates, glancing at the fields. "My lord, of course I'd be happy to, but we're getting close to the harvest..."

You shake your head. "I've seen how well you run things here, Adolphus. They don't need you on hand every minute of every day! And if we don't deal with these bandits, we won't have a harvest to profit from."

That seems to settle him. "You're right, of course, sir. Let me just make sure that my instructions are clear before we head out for the day." He hurries off to speak with a few more of the workers, and before too long you're both on the road.
