You and Amanda were having a dinner at a nice Italian restaurant in the Brickell area of Miami to celebrate your non-bad news.

"I was surprised to hear you voice that you wanted someone to help you transition. At least to a stranger," Amanda said.

"Well, we've been going in that direction for awhile," you said. "And yeah, with Bruna ... and with Trevor, it felt good." Something about your pause perked Amanda's curiosity. She had to know.

"Have you been with anybody else, Dani?" she asked pointedly. You bit your cheek. This was the moment of truth.

"Umm ... I've been with Kase when we've been drunk. And my boss."

"Jackson?"

"Yeah. I know, it's bad," you said, looking down.

"Hey, no," Amanda said, leaning in and tipping your chin up. "You're doing what is natural to you now. And you're right, we have evolved into something ... different. But it's not bad or wrong or anything like that." She looked down, changing gears.

"So I've been working on the list of finalists. I've talked about it with a couple of close girlfriends, talked to my sister about it. And I want guys that are not just good for me. I want guys that are good for us. I want you to always have a place in my bed, even if you find yourself a husband." She smiled as you pushed yourself into her arms, your eyes wet. She had just made your day.
