Adi is paralyzed

You rush over to check him out. He’s still alive and his eyes are open, but he seems unable to move.

“I was afraid of this,” says Jon. “I’ve heard that these beasts sometimes have venom that paralyses.”

You kneel beside Adi, concern etched on your face. His leg is already swelling where the centipede bit him.

"Hang in there, my friend," you say, squeezing his shoulder. Though paralyzed, his eyes follow you, wide with fear.

Nell crouches on Adi's other side. "We need to get him out of here. I don't know how long the venom will last."

Jon stands guard over the three of you, sword ready in case more creatures emerge from the darkness. "Can you heal him?" he asks you.

You shake your head grimly. "Not fully, not without the proper ingredients. But I may be able to slow the spread of the venom."

You pull several vials from your satchel and mix together a makeshift potion. It won't cure Adi, but hopefully it will buy him some time. You lift his head and pour the concoction down his throat.

After a few moments, Adi blinks and some of the tension leaves his paralyzed body. Some of the concern in his eyes fades as well. The swelling in his leg remains, but you cast a short healing spell for the physical damage. That seems to relieve some of the paralysis too.

"We should go back and take the left passage," Nell says. "I don't like it here." The others nod agreement.

Jon nods. "Can you walk if we support you?" he asks Adi. Adi nods.

With your help, Adi manages to stand, though his movements are stiff and unsteady. You and Jon put his arms over your shoulders and help him hobble back the way you came. Nell has his sword out in case of more enemies.

You all make your way slowly back up the tunnel, supporting Adi between you. The torchlight dances ahead of you as Nell leads the way.

When you reach the fork, you pause. The left tunnel looms dark and narrow before you.

"Are we sure about this?" Jon asks doubtfully.
