How does the new week start?
Adding to the routine
As morning light crept in Monday, Molly slowly opened her eyes seeing her slumbering partner next to her. Noticing the sandwich placed last night, she realized how hungry she was.
She figured she'd let him sleep as she silently got ready for work early, fixed her breakfast, and headed out before the wakeup alarm.
Paul just heard the door close as she exited. As his mental faculties slowly returned. After hearing the door slam shut, he slowly rolls out of bed and proceeds to put on crisp, clean, new workout shorts & top, and trainers to begin working out. After some good stretches and a quick jog on the treadmill, Paul moved over to address some work before his training session.
Shortly after lunch, he got ready, positioning his laptop facing the treadmill and sitting down in the first position to get ready for Bill. Focusing on his knees, Paul tried to tried to stretch his thighs as far apart as he could to measure how his stretching was going. Within a few minutes, his Skype session rang and it auto-answered as he set it up so he didn’t have to bother getting out of position.
“Ah! Ready to go, Paul; good!”
“Hello, Trainer Bill; all set!”
“I see you got the treadmill in place; let’s start with the stretching routine and then we’ll work on your form while walking.”
“Yes, Trainer Bill,” as Paul continued through his stretching routine. Bill occasionally gave pointers, but it seemed that Paul was getting the general form right.
Bill was still frustrated with the video quality, prompted Paul to tighten up his top in a knot again, “if you wear a long, loose top like that, ensure you tie it in a knot before our sessions so I can get a clear view.”
“Yes, Trainer Bill,” Paul replied as he finished the knot at his waist.
“Good, let’s get going on the treadmill, so I can work with you.”
“Yes, Trainer Bill,” as he turned to get going on the treadmill at a pace of a brisk walk.
Bill guided him to adjust his walk and try to get the hip movement but was really getting frustrated with the resolution and details.
“You’ve got sneakers on; that’s going to make it difficult. Go get your sandals on; use those on all future sessions,” Bill directed.
“Yes, Trainer Bill,” Paul responded quizzically as he stopped the treadmill and swapped out his trainers for the sandals and got back on the treadmill.
As Bill continues to watch his movement, he realizes he’s either going to have to go over there or get some better equipment as it’s just too grainy to get any real muscle movement and jerky as all heck. He left Paul practicing while he looked up for some equipment to be drop shipped before tomorrow’s session.
“Alright, Paul, I think that’s enough for today. I have a new camera coming tomorrow; get it setup for tomorrow’s session so I can get some actual detail and ensure you’re doing it right.”
Paul stopped the treadmill and stepped off, “yes, Trainer Bill. What did you order?”
Paul could see an annoyed look on Bill’s face at the question, “I’d like to get the driver and software setup ahead of time if I can.”
Bill wasn’t sure if he was accepting his direction & earnestly making an effort, or if he was now covering the mistake. Cautiously, Bill sent him the e-mail and directed Paul to get ready for close out.
As Paul took his position kneeling at the marks and spreading his legs, Bill asked how he felt about things.
“I really appreciate everything you’re doing to improve my movements and flexibility, Trainer Bill, but I’m a little concerned about my voice. I know I’m not the deepest of tones, but I feel it will throw off the look & placement of the outfit.”
Bill contemplates this for a moment, “I appreciate your interest to be thorough, but you seem to be taking this a bit further than is needed.”
“I don’t think I’ve taken it far enough yet, Trainer Bill. As you said it's all in the mindset and focus. It feels like its going to really through things off even more than my gate or walking.” Paul breaks into falseto, “and any time I try I sould like a pre-pubesnt boy or a joke.”
Bill cringes at his silly attempt. “Fair enough, but it is a costume party. I’m sure people will fully understand if you have everything else but the voice is key.”
“No, Trainer Bill, if I’m going to do this right, I need to do it to my best, right?” Paul is almost pleading looking up at Bill on the laptop screen.
Bill shakes his head, “fair enough,” pondering a moment. “Okay, its not really my forte, but I’ll help look for resources too, but you might want to find a vocal coach if you got one sitting in your back pocket.”
Paul chuckles at that, “ya, just happen to know one of those.”
Bill raises an eyebrow at the relaxed speech.
Paul cringes at the non-verbal admonishment. “Sorry. Yes, Trainer Bill. But any ideas you have would definitely be appreciated.”
“Well, at least see if Molly could record a script or book or something for you and maybe you can work on mimicking her at least.”
“OOo, great idea, Trainer Bill!”
Bill chuckles at the odd enjoyment from the paramour looking up at him. “If there’s nothing else, I think that’s all for today. We’ll catch you tomorrow.”
“Bye, Trainer Bill,” Paul responded with a little wave before awkwardly putting his hand down as Bill disconnected.
After that, Paul went to change out of his workout clothes, put things away, and wash up before a quiet evening with Molly.
