Add it to her cover letter?

Monica sighed, feeling she had no choice but to explain her graduation mishap in her cover letter. Not knowing of Steve or Dean Blackburn's part in it, she reluctantly put the following paragraph in her cover letters:

"I have even suffered hardship during my short career. It is tradition at the school paper for the editor in chief to go nude under their gown for graduation. I followed that tradition, and my gown and cap unfortunately came undone during the graduation, resulting in great embarrassment I had to overcome."

Meanwhile, Dean Blackburn cracked a wry smile as she realized how little Monica's career was progressing. She was satisfied, not only with Monica getting off her back but also suffering the same consequences she threatened to put to the dean.
