What's next?

Adcock Christmas: Leah goes with Jonathan and his archery set. (Suspicion: -10)

“Slow down there William Tell.” she laughed “I think I will let you get some practice before I let you take a shot like that”

“Ehhhhhh probably a smart move.” he sighed with a grin. He knew he was probably shit at it anyway.

“But, yeah it will be nice to get some air. I am bringing my hot chocolate though.” she said as she moved to find a jacket.

“Fair enough.” he kissed her then moved to the door “I will soon be just like Legolas.”

As they stepped outside, Leah took a deep breath of the crisp winter air. It felt good to be outside and away from the chaos of the Christmas festivities inside. She followed Jonathan to the edge of the yard where there was a small target set up.

Jonathan took position and pulled back the bowstring, aiming carefully at the target. He released it with a twang and watched as the arrow sailed through the air, missing its mark by a few feet.

“Close one!” he said with a grin, pulling out another arrow.

Leah couldn’t help but laugh as she watched him continue to miss his target. It seemed like every time he took a shot, he ended up hitting somewhere completely different.

“Maybe archery isn’t your calling after all,” she teased.

Jonathan groaned playfully, “Just you wait, I’ll get it eventually.”

As they continued to joke and play around with the archery set, Leah decided to give it a try herself. She carefully notched an arrow and pulled back on the bowstring. With shaky hands, she released it and watched in amusement as the arrow barely flew six feet before falling to the ground.

“Wow, I’m definitely not going to be competing in any archery tournaments,” she joked as Jonathan helped her retrieve her arrow.

They spent the next hour practicing together, with Jonathan slowly but surely improving his aim and Leah’s shots getting slightly better each time. But eventually, they both grew cold and decided to head back inside for some more hot cocoa.

As they curled up by the fire once again, Jonathan turned to Leah with a smile on his face.

“You know what? This has been one of my favorite Christmases yet,” he said sincerely.

“I couldn’t agree more,” she said, leaning in to kiss him.
