Chapter 16 by mburns mburns

Who answers the door?

Adalyn

"Well, well, well. How thoughtful. A present, just for me." Staring down at Kara, her ex wife, Adalyn, have her a look of sly amusement, eyeing up the bound woman on the floor before her. It was nothing she hadn't seen before, of course, but that didn't exactly comfort Kara at all. "Gotta say, I expected you to last longer. You're on you own for barely a week, and already you're right back here, begging for my help." Her words pierced Kara like knives. Adalyn grabbed Kara by the arms, pulling her up to her feet. "Come on, let's get inside."

Kara realized there was a difference between familiarity and comfort. The dining room chair that her bare ass was plopped down in was familiar, the hum of the air conditioner was familiar, the wallpaper, chandelier, and pictures were all familiar, but she wasn't comforted. To her, this was hell. Adalyn frowned. "Come on, you really have nothing to say to me?" Kara turned away in defiance, trying her best to be taken seriously, though the giant bow on her head didn't help that at all. "Very well. I guess you don't want to know where your car is, then." This peaked Kara's attention. "What?" Adalyn smirked. "Oh, the authorities found the car, the money, your clothes, all of it. I'm still listed as your emergency contact, so they had it brought to me." Kara sighed, begrudgingly turning to make eye contact with Adalyn. "Give it to me." She demanded. Her ex wife chuckled. "In due time. You need to do some things for me first." Kara tilted her head. "Like what?"

Adalyn smirked, and pulled out a long chain from behind her seat. "I really did miss you, dear."

What does Adalyn have in store?
