Across the country, small town (Yale)

Renee groaned as her parents made her check her luggage - she was afraid that someone would tamper with it, but her parents assured her that there would be nothing wrong. Just as the family left the check desk to go through security, Marcus texted someone.

"u got the plan?"

"yeah"

"perfect"

Everyone passed through security and made it to the gate. Renee gazed nervously at her phone until it was time to board. She got to her seat, and put a sleeping mask over her eyes and went to sleep for the next several hours.

Eventually, Selena nudged her awake as the plane began its descent. Renee took her mask off and gazed in awe at the Statue of Liberty and World Trade Center staring back at her with the Empire State Building in the distance.

"Good afternoon everyone, this is your captain speaking. We are about to descend into John F. Kennedy International Airport, and should be at the gate in 20 minutes. Please keep your seatbelts fastened until the lights above you come off. The weather is sunny, about 79 degrees in New York. We know you have a choice, so thank you for choosing to fly JetRED Airlines."

Eventually the plane landed and everyone got off. Renee was eager to check (so to speak) her luggage at the carousel, but when she got there her parents informed her that the subway to Grand Central would be leaving in ten minutes and she could inspect everything when she got to New Haven.

Renee groaned but moved along as the family navigated the hustle and bustle of the subway and Grand Central. Renee looked out the window as the train took them from the terminal, through suburbia turning into small towns and farmland until they arrived at New Haven. Renee still couldn't take her eyes off the cozy wooden benches of the Amtrak terminal merging contrasting beautifully with the green tiles on the wall, and managed to snap a few pictures before the cab came to take them to campus.

Soon enough, everyone got off board and the Family Beaucorps got to Renee's dorm room to get all her things moved in. Renee plopped her bag down onto the bed and unzipped it so fast the zipper almost broke.
