Chapter 3 by HiBeGi HiBeGi

How shall the battle start?

Accidentally Trespassing on Themyscira

A tall woman stood on top of a cliff on a Mediterranean island; her black hair and skin tanned slightly. Red boots were adorned on her feet, and she wore a costume that looked like a one-piece swimsuit on her body. The bottom portion was blue with white stars patterning it. Above the blue section was a golden belt that seemingly formed a W. Attached to the belt was an equally golden lasso, which glows slightly. The top section of the one-piece was red with a golden eagle insignia going across the center of her chest; the eagle's wings spread in a way that formed another W. Just above the wrists of her bare arms were a pair of metallic bracers. Resting on her head was a golden tiara that had a red star in the center of it. This was none other than Diana of Themyscira, Wonder Woman, who had recently returned to her home island. Currently she looked down from the cliff side she stood upon, overlooking her sisters, her fellow Amazonians train under the hot sun.

She enjoyed her visits to Themyscira; they were sparse but enjoyable breaks from Diana's job as both an ambassador to Themyscira and a protector of the man's world. A smile crept onto the Amazon's face, the relaxing atmosphere of her place of birth overwhelming her as she closed her eyes and listened to the sparring down below.

Wonder Woman's smile soon vanished when she felt a rumbling, not from the ground but from the sky. Her eyes snapped open as she tilted her head up and saw a multi-coloured beam heading down toward the ground. The amazons that had been sparing had stopped and looked up when they felt the sky rumble but could not keep track of the beam moving toward the ground like Diana could, for the beam moved at a near-incomprehensible speed. In the same second that the beam appeared in the sky, it crashed to the ground, hitting a beach on the opposite end of Themyscira from where Diana was, shaking the entire island.

Diana's eyes narrow as she watches a dust cloud get kicked up at the landing site and then, without waisting a second, leaps down the cliff and lands in the courtyard her fellow Amazons had been training in. She walks over to an armoury, where she grabs a hold of a silver sword with a bronze guard and a blue handle and a bronze shield with a blue and red circular layer on it and her golden insignia in the center of the shield. Wonder Woman threw the two weapons on her back before taking off, jumping high into the air and flying off toward the landing site, creating a sonic bomb as she raced off.

As the dust cleared up, a woman was revealed to be lying in the center of a rune consisting of several Viking knots, which now marked the beach. The woman had long blonde hair, and a metal helmet covered the entire top portion of her head. The helmet has a pair of large wings designed onto it and black visors that kept its wearer's eyes hidden. She wore a silver chestplate that went up to her neck and a brown belt with a series of long flaps on it that covered her waist. A black body suit covered the rest of her body, which went down all the way to her ankles. Around her calves were brown wrappings, and protecting her feet here were a pair of armoured ankle boots. On her left arm was a black sleeve that started at her bicep and went down to her wrist, where it met up with an armoured bracer. A long red cape covered her back and reached down toward her legs.

This was Doctor Jane Foster, the Mighty Thor, who currently looked disgruntled as she picked herself off of the ground. "Bastard." she muttered as she began looking around the beach. That's when she spotted what she'd been looking for: a metallic mallet rested a good distance beside her, its head rather large, and it had Norse text inscribed on the side of her. Jane reached her hand out, causing the hammer to lift off of the sandy ground that it was embedded in. "Mjolnir, come to me." the doctor commanded, prompting the hammer to fly toward her, landing its handle directly into her open hand. Jane's fingers wrapped tightly around Mjolnir's handle; it was important that she kept the weapon close to her at all times.

She had recently been in Asgard dealing with a problemed caused by Thor's adopted brother, Loki, though things had gone south for the God of Thunder when the God of Mischief had turned the Bifrost against her, sending her to...Jane took a second the survey her surroundings. She was on an island, she wasn't sure of its exact location, but given the architecture she could see in the distance, Greek seemed like a good bet. Her access to the Bifrost had been cut off, meaning she had to get back to Asgard through a different method. Jane let out a sigh, she couldn't waist anymore time here, she needed to find her bearings first before she even bothered leaving.

The Mighty Thor then heard something land behind her, wiping around to face it, Jane came face-to-face with Wonder Woman, the taller woman's eye furrowed at Jane. "You trespass on the Island of Paradise." Diana asserted, resting a hand on her hip.

"My most humble apology, I hadn't meant to trespass upon thine's land. If thou were assist me in finding my bearing, then I shalt leave posthaste." Jane responded back, quickly switching to her Thor persona as she spoke. Wonder Woman stared down the warrior that stood before her. There was something odd about her; she had the air of a god about her, yet had that of a mortal as well. Either way, Thymesicra's location was a secret to all but a select few who weren't Amazonian, which meant she couldn't tell this woman where she was and, as of now, she had no reason to trust her. "I will help you leave, but first you'll have to come with me." The amazon instructed. Jane began to walk toward Diana before being stopped when the princess held out her hand, "With your weapon discarded." Wonder Woman further instructed.

Jane's eye widened behind her black visors before looking down at Mjolnir; she couldn't do that; relinquishing Mjolnir would be bad for her for multiple reasons. For one, Mjolnir is what granted Jane her godly physique and armour, without it, she'd end up revealing her secret identity as Jane Foster to a complete stranger. There was then a second, much bigger problem, Mjolnir granted Jane perfect health, which was perfect for her since breast cancer was currently eating away at her life. The doctor had gone through chemotherapy, but while Mjolnir kept her health, it would undo the effects of her chemo whenever she switched back to her alter ego. So, leaving behind her hammer was a big no for her. "I'm afraid that isn't an option for me, if th--" Thor tried to reason but was cut off by the Amazonian.

Wonder Woman crossed her arms, her blue eyes narrowing at the blonde. "I don't think you're in a position to negotiate." Diana stated, uncrossing her arms and holding them at her sides, hands balled into fists.

Disliking the provocation, Jane tossed Mjonlir into her opposite hand, changing her grip on the hammer, "Thou should be careful of whom thou threatens, for before you stands a god." Jane boasted. Well, technically, what she said was only half-true; she wasn't a god herself, but she was borrowing the powers of one, thus giving her all the might of the God of Thunder.

"Yeah? Same goes to you as well." Wonder Woman retorted, then disappeared from Jane's sight, the only thing left in her place being a large portion of sand that had been thrown back where she once stood. On instinct, Jane brought Mjolnir in front of her face, which just narrowly blocked Diana's fist from making contact with Jane's face. A loud, metallic clang rang out as a shockwave formed from the blow, racing across the entire island and causing trees to sway. "I'm not exactly a mortal either."

Does Jane retaliate?
