Chapter 12 by MidbossMan MidbossMan

What should I do next?

Accept the rain and tell her we won't be going to the beach

Damn it. Damn Rokkenjima! You're not a character, so I don't have to love you! I'll fully hate the island and it's terrible, awful rain, that keeps everyone inside and facilitates these **** mysteries!

"Eeeh? Looks like it's beginning to pour down rain. I'm not going to go out in rain like this."

She said it! Ah, it hurt. My poor planning had ruined everything. Broken, I slumped my shoulders and agreed with her. We may as well forget about a fun beach day.

She smiled sympathetically. Kindly, even. Was her motherly instinct kicking in just a bit? "You know... I don't mind showing you the bikini. That's what you really wanted to see, wasn't it?"

It was hard to tell if I should lie here or tell her the truth. I found myself floundering in the face of her teasing.

"Ho ho... Don't be coy with me, Mister Player. I can tell when naughty children are lying. I've been through motherhood." She paused, lowering her eyebrows as a smile curved across her lips. "Was that your motivation all along? When you heard that we were going to a private island with a nice beach, were you just picturing enjoying the beach with me?" I couldn't answer that, not honestly. She cackled again, seeming to enjoy pushing me into a corner. "I'll give it to you, though. The glimpse of my bikini you wanted. In return, I expect you to mount a better offense against Doctor Nanjo during the conference later tonight? Do we have a deal?"

Ah... Eva is either an angel or a devil. Either way, I accepted the offer. The two of us made our way back up the bedroom. By this point, I could hear the rain pouring outside, but it didn't bother me... What is a bit of rain to a lover?

We entered the room and she pointed me towards the bed. I was to sit there while she showed off... the confidence of this mature woman was enthralling. I took my seat, trying not to look to anxious, while she grinned at me and played with the zipper at the front of the hooded garment. Faster, Eva, faster... the darkness out there is not simply rain. Slowly, she ran the zipper down. The teasing was painstaking for me and a delight for her.

In the end, she shrugged it off. I saw a momentary glimpse of white flesh, snug royal blue cloth, and vibrant gold trim... then a pastiche of red and black. What had happened? The door was closed and I'd even locked it with the chain... There shouldn't be any way to kill me in this room. I'd become the victim of a closed-room **** at the worst possible time! I was beginning to hate them about as badly as Battler did...
