Accept the invitation and go to the Cauldron with them

Chapter 4 by pmanpman

"Sounds good," you say, and Kez's grin widens.

"Excellent! Let's go before the lunch crowd hits." She turns on her heel, her tail—short and tuft-ended—flicking with evident satisfaction.

The five of you make your way out of the Great Hall, Petra falling into step beside you while Kez leads the way with Sable and Thorne flanking her. The morning sun is warm on your face as you step outside, and the campus buzzes with post-orientation energy—students streaming in various directions, some heading back to dorms, others toward the academic buildings.

"The Cauldron's just past the library," Thorne explains, gesturing to a Gothic structure with flying buttresses. "Best coffee on campus, and Magda—the owner—makes these cinnamon rolls that are basically illegal."

"Magda's a hag," Petra adds helpfully. "Swamp hag, specifically. Don't let the name fool you—she's lovely."

You're halfway across the quad when a voice calls out, honey-smooth and unmistakably seductive.

"Well, well. Fresh faces."

You turn to see a woman—no, a succubus—approaching from the direction of the student union. She's breathtaking in a way that feels almost weaponized. Standing nearly six feet tall in her bare feet, she has the kind of body that would make a sculptor weep: toned abs, a narrow waist that flares into generous hips, and breasts so large and perfect they seem to defy physics. Her skin is a warm bronze, and her face looks like it belongs on a magazine cover—high cheekbones, full lips painted deep crimson, eyes lined with perfect black wings. Her hair is long and black, cascading over her shoulders in glossy waves.

Two curved horns emerge from her temples, dark as obsidian. Behind her, a spaded tail sways lazily, and from her back, leathery wings—currently folded—catch the sunlight.

She's wearing a tiny crop top that barely contains her chest and a pair of shorts so brief they're nearly decorative. Her feet are bare, toenails painted the same crimson as her lips.

"Lyric," Sable says, her tone neutral but polite. "Good morning."

"Mmm, it is now." Lyric's eyes—a striking amber—lock onto you with unmistakable hunger. She steps closer, her hips swaying with each movement. "You must be the human everyone's talking about. Alex, isn't it?"

"Yeah," you manage, acutely aware of how her gaze seems to strip you down to your skin.

"Lyric Dawnsinger," she purrs, extending a hand. When you shake it, her skin is warm—hot, actually—and impossibly soft. She holds the contact a beat longer than necessary. "Psychology major. Third year. I have to say, you're even more interesting up close."

Kez clears her throat. "We were just heading to the Cauldron."

"How fortuitous. So was I." Lyric doesn't break eye contact with you. "Mind if I join you? I'd love to get to know our newest student better."

Petra shifts slightly beside you, her tail still.
