About Gotham Girl...

'I haven't heard that name in a while.'

In Gotham City, Batman was their primary protector. The strongest. The absolute. Years ago, however, there was an anomaly. A pair of twins known as Gotham and Gotham Girl appeared and began to do things that even Batman could not. Their powers resembled Superman and they served as a new beacon of light. Criticism did come their way due to their amateurish, almost clumsy heroics but regardless they were appreciated. They stopped a crashing plane. They displayed unbelievable feats that stopped the Penguin in his tracks. The tides of crime shifted with their appearance. The twins were strong. Too strong. Unstoppable, quick, and eager.

Then Gotham went rogue. He fought the Justice League and died. The truth of the ordeal was never revealed to the public but comfort could be taken in the fact that the insane Gotham hero was dead, never to return. Gotham Girl also vanished. Many assumed she died too. Some sighted her helping the Bat Family. Others said it was Spoiler, a female hero in an identical purple costume.

In the city's history, Gotham and Gotham Girl were like fireworks. They came and went with a bang that would forever linger in the back of Gotham's subconscious. Their heroics an answer as to whether Superman could solve the issues of Gotham City; whether ultra powered superheroes could change things. Perhaps they could have given more time. Perhaps not. Were they as strong as Superman? Probably not. Even so, hope built from the light was something Gotham desperately needed. Gotham and Gotham Girl failed to accomplish that.

"Are…are you serious?" Aaron whispered back. Cassandra nodded.

"Mhm. She's Gotham Girl." Cassandra's expression was unreadable as she expanded, "She once joined Bane. She was once controlled. Batman believes in her though."

"So…she's good now?"

"Maybe," Cassandra muttered.

"Tim told me that Bruce gave her Platinum Kryptonite," Stephanie said, "which gives her the full range of Kryptonian powers, like super speed, heat vision, x-ray vision–all that good stuff. But two months ago, she was hit with the Leviathan's anti-metahuman bullet and her powers have been…wonky."

"Like…unstable? Dangerous?" Aaron quickly glanced at Chloe, who was innocently ignorant to their discussion. "How wonky is it?"

"No, no," Stephanie replied quickly, wanting to put away his panic. "It's...like…turning off and on. Sometimes her powers work, sometimes they don't. She and Duke had been patrolling when they were ambushed and shot. Duke was hurt pretty badly and confined to his bed for a while but I guess since Gotham Girl's powers are much stronger she didn't start bleeding and dying."

The past two months, Claire had been acting like a normal college student…because she had lost her powers. She literally had nothing better to do besides focus on her school work. Without her powers, without the same human experience as the Robins or other non-powered heroes, she was next to useless. The timeline fit.

However, that raised a lot of concerns. If her powers were like Superman, then that meant she had super hearing and x-ray vision. Which could potentially mean she was aware of all the sex and fuckery he did. 'No, no, wait. That's assuming she has bad intentions and that her powers always work. Given that Batman entrusted her with Superman-esque powers, I assume she's a really good person. Kind hearted, sweet, lawful. That was also the vibe I got from her. She was always nice to me and she never seemed tense or suspicious of me.'

Relief exuded his expression. Stephanie nodded along, pleased her words brought him comfort. "Yeah, don't worry," she said. "Chloe is safe."

"Yeah…" Aaron glanced at his daughter and tapped her on the shoulder. She removed her hands from her ears and looked between him and Stephanie.

"It looked like you guys were pretty serious," Chloe said. "Am I really not allowed to know?"

"Sorry," Cassandra shook her head and placed a finger on her lips. "Not allowed."

Another pout. Classic Chloe. He was glad to see her act normal and distract Cassandra. He needed a second to breathe. For a moment, he thought it was over–that everything he had worked to keep hidden was gone. Collapsed. Ruined by the most powerful female in the city.

'I need to do something about her. I can't afford to have someone like Gotham Girl living underneath me. Should I…hypnotize her? I should be able to do it, right? She's weakened and I'm growing stronger every second. Should I…?'
