Abjuration - The Art of Suppression

You soon found that the chalice was not only overflowing with a liquid you could only determine was water, but that it was rather... soapy? The smell of some form of cleaning agent was present in it, making the chalice somewhat slippery, requiring more focus on holding it. As you did so, the presence of soap in it seemed to be made more abundant by the rich lather and bubbles that accompanied the water.

"This one is always a challenge for our students to recognize, but us masters of magic know your talent to be in Abjuration." Morgana stated with an intrigued hum, not quite excited, but certainly attentive. "Just as soap washes away the dirt and grime on objects and people, and can even repel further mess, so too does Abjuration remove and repel the magic of others. Not an offensive magic by any means, but it's useful for creating powerful barriers that will stave off a plethora of attacks. Perhaps more devastatingly, a true artisan can even nullify existing magic, to the point even those with but a flicker of mana feel burdened due to their struggle to let magic flow through their bodies."

As the thought of what this power could do for you went through your mind, your eyes drifted to those below you. While most were just as confused as you were initially over the talent, you couldn't help but notice it didn't stop some from seeming jealous at your wellspring of mana. Others seemed to be fearful of that which they didn't understand, or maybe frightened by what your suppressing powers could do to them. Others seemed to admire the vast wealth of magic under your control with hungry, almost lustful eyes.

"Your power will prove most useful one way or another. Meet with Duchess Felfram after the assembly." Morgana said before urging you back to the other students.

As you descended, you couldn't help but smile slightly. While there was still a lot for you to learn, which was everything really, you felt pleased. Your life had been about fearing the strength of others, cowering under their fists and anger. With this power, you may be able to repel any blow directed at you ever again. Hell, you may very well be able to take away the very power behind their blows.
