Aberration is a type of creature, or monstrosity if you find it wasier to call them that. Aberrations generally all have bizarre anatomies, strange abilities, alien mindsets, or any combination thereof. A prime example is the famous mindflayers, which si said to be a creation of the elder god Cthulhu himself, with their thin bodies and octopus heads with which they eat brains and the floating beholder who is just a floating head with a single large eye and several tentacles with spell shooting eyeballs on each end.
