Aaron asks her to be in a movie
Chloe tilted her head slightly, her long blonde hair cascading over one shoulder as she waited patiently. The dim light of the living room softened her features, making her look even more radiant. Aaron's heart hammered so loudly he was sure she could hear it. His palms were slick with sweat, and he wiped them discreetly on his shorts. Just say it, he thought. She's nice. She listened before. But the words stuck in his throat like dry popcorn.
"Chloe, I... um..." He swallowed hard, his voice cracking. Mark's soft snores provided a gentle rhythm in the background, but it did nothing to calm Aaron's nerves. He shifted his weight from one foot to the other, his overweight frame making the floor creak faintly. "I've been working on something. Like, a project. I'm trying to be a filmmaker. You know, movies and stuff. I've got this old camera from my uncle, and I've been practicing with short films. Editing on my laptop at night."
Chloe's blue eyes widened with genuine interest, a warm smile spreading across her lips. She leaned in a little closer, the neckline of her yellow tank top dipping just enough to draw Aaron's gaze for a split second before he forced himself to look at her face. "That's awesome, Aaron! I had no idea. What kind of films? Like, action or comedy or...?"
He cut her off gently, his cheeks burning crimson. "Y-yeah, well... I've been writing this script. It's nothing big yet. Just something small. But I need someone for the lead role. And I thought... maybe... you could do it?" The last words came out in a nervous rush, barely above a whisper. He stared at the carpet, unable to meet her eyes. His hands fidgeted with the hem of his t-shirt, twisting the fabric. "You're really pretty, and you have this way of... lighting up a room. Like in the movies. It would mean a lot. I could film it here when my parents are out, or in the backyard. Nothing crazy. Just a few scenes."
The silence stretched for what felt like forever to Aaron. He risked a glance up. Chloe was still smiling, but now there was a hint of surprise mixed with curiosity. She tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, her toned arm brushing lightly against her side. The movement made her tank top shift subtly, accentuating her curves in a way that sent another jolt through him. He tried to focus on her face—those kind, naïve eyes that always seemed to see the best in everyone.
"Wow, Aaron. Me? In your movie?" She laughed softly, a light, melodic sound that made his stomach flip. "That's so sweet of you to ask. I've never acted before, but it sounds fun. Chloe nodded encouragingly, completely oblivious to the deeper undercurrents in his request. She reached out and gave his arm another gentle squeeze, her touch sending sparks across his skin. "That sounds really meaningful. I love helping people feel better about themselves. Remember how we talked earlier? If it helps you with your filmmaking dream, I'd be happy to try. When do you want to start?"
Aaron's pulse thundered in his ears. This was going better than he had dared hope. He could already picture it—the soft lighting, her blonde hair glowing under the lamps, the way her shorts hugged her legs as she moved. "Maybe next week? After school. My parents have that conference thing. I could set up some lights in my room. It's not fancy, but—"
He trailed off as Chloe's expression shifted to thoughtful. She bit her lower lip in that adorably naïve way she had, her perfectly toned body shifting as she adjusted her stance. The afternoon sun filtering through the curtains highlighted every detail: the gentle swell of her breasts, the smooth skin of her thighs peeking from her distressed denim shorts. Aaron felt dizzy, a mix of excitement and terror swirling inside him.
"What kind of movie is it exactly?" Chloe asked suddenly, her voice light but genuinely curious. She tilted her head again, eyes sparkling with innocent interest. "Like, is it a drama, or something more... intimate?"
The question hung in the air, heavy with unspoken possibilities. Aaron froze, his mouth dry, heart pounding as he searched for the right words. The cliffhanger of her question left everything balanced on a knife's edge—what would he reveal next about his secret script, and how far would Chloe's kindness take her?
