Aaron Confesses

“Come on Chely you know you didn’t bring your licence with you” Getting into the car, refusing to unlock the passenger side door. Starting the engine slowly pulling out leaving a stunned Aaron on the side with an incredulous look on his face. “Oh come on i was only joking Chely. No one likes the Aaron and the Aaron only like you!”

Too bad I hear the comment too late to stop merging into the flow of traffic. Oh well Aaron can wait until I drive around the mall to be picked up. Two minutes later I’m back pulling up to Aaron, unlocking the door “Alright you can get in but I warn you, I don’t want you making eyes at any named Melissa you hear me!”

“I hear you!” Climbing in doing up his seat belt before I begin to drive us home. “Say what about a Chely can I make eyes at her?” his hand on my right knee. I don’t want to be distracted while driving

“Not while I’m behind the wheel!” Taking my eyes off the parking lot to look at Aaron to make sure he heard me. The drive home was done with his hand on my knees and my thoughts on what Melissa was going to do when we got back. As I pull up the driveway into the garage, Aaron removes his hand and before getting out of the car turns my head to him and kissed me on the lips.

Inside I melted, but my outside was still mad at Aaron for his behaviour. “NO! I’m still mad about Melissa, and now I have to put up with one more!”

“Chely!, I’m a guy and guys look at pretty girls all the time!” Great my ire at him is growing by leaps and bounds as he continues “ I mean your friend Melissa is nice to look at but I can’t see me and her talking about anything!” Okay that calmed me down a notch!

‘Your just saying that so I’ll give you your keys back.” That’s when Aaron reached into his jacket pocket and produces a set of keys

“Oh no Chely those keys are for you!” Aaron knows he just stunned me into silence. “I planned to give them to to later tonight but well you grabbed them and took off!” Oh great I ruined his planned gift to me, so i vow to make it up to Aaron!

As we get out of the car, Melissa and Jennifer are waiting for us in the patio door.

“About time you two got back, we thought you both decided to elope somewhere!” Melissa renews my anger with her. Jennifer though shocks Aaron and me

“While you were gone a telephone call came from a David Thornton!”

I immediately pale at the name, Aaron just shrugs his shoulders “Did it said what it wants?”

“No just said he would call back later!” Jennifer tells us I look to Aaron to see his reaction

“When he calls back I’ll handle it Chely, don’t fret about it!” Aaron protecting me from him, like he did when he called us family “You just have fun with your friends!” Walking passing Jennifer and Melissa “You two keep her mind of that call, you hear me?”

Both nods their heads as Aaron goes into the house, grabbing the phone from it’s charging base, taking it with him down into the rec room.

Melissa braves the question “So Chely who is he?”

Trembling a bit “Our estranged father!”
