ACT I RECAP

SPOILERS FOR ACT I

Miseo, known through her Instagram handle "Mis-easy", always dreamed of becoming a K-pop idol. After months of deliberation, she mustered up the courage to audition for Starlight Entertainment, the company that debuted one of the biggest girl groups in K-pop history, Starlight. Unfortunately, she completely failed her audition by stumbling through her dance routine and cracking windows with her singing, but her strong honesty and charisma, along with her odd combination of skills, impressed the CEO enough to offer her a few months to participate in their new trainee program.

Miseo's dorm roommate was Haneul, another girl with big dreams whom she met at the auditions. Compared to Miseo, she was completely shy and undermined her talent through humility. The two would go through several trainings and trials together as they twerked to dance choreography, tripped in high heels, and fought off creepers at nightclubs.

Though Haneul recognized Miseo's lack of talent, she saw her improvement skyrocket, but she soon began to suspect there was something more to her lucky winning streak. Haneul noticed Miseo stayed out late or would exchange glances with the managers and trainers. It wasn't until Haneul and her team lost to Miseo in a "friendly" competition that the results were being skewed by Miseo's late night meetings with judges and other powerful men, and not through merit.

When Haneul heard Starlight Entertainment was going to debut a new girl group using the trainees from the program, and that there was only room for one more, she seized the opportunity to claim the spot for her own. All she had to do was spend the night with the new manager.

Miseo wanted Haneul to become an idol through her talent, not by sucking the right people. She hunted down the meeting place and tried to stop Haneul from seeing the manager, but it was too late. Her friend was gone, corrupted, and it was her fault for pushing her best friend down this path.

SOLO

Miseo belittled Haneul's inexperience and seduced the manager, leaving Haneul in tears after a tense argument. Haneul left the training program to unknown whereabouts. While Miseo claimed the final spot as the leader, she still wondered if it was worth it.

DUET

Miseo taught Haneul how to please the manager, ending up in a strange threesome with her best friend and the manager. Through thick and thin and no matter what would happen, they would go through it together. Miseo and Haneul claimed the final spot, facing the unknown future with their new teammates, the members of MOONLIGHT.
