Dishwater hair in kinda a shag cut, what's that she's wearing on a ribbon, a big old spring clip like a mountain climber?

"Oh hey Mr. Forbes, what are you doing here? And what happened to your leg?"

"Alice? Alice Colt? I barely recognized you, gal, look at you all sharp in your uniform." Alice was one of Deenie's friends from school, that would be Mandy's daughter Deenie, but it had been a few years since Deenie went into the army as an engine mechanic so you hadn't crossed paths with Alice. Alice had a great-aunt Belle, so she was Alice Belle Colt. Deenie called her ABC sometimes. "Yeah, broken leg, Mary was busy so the hospital dropped me off, but the driver took off before I could tell 'em they stopped too soon. And I can't get cell up here on the hill. Can you be my guardian angel, Alice, just run me up the hill to my place?"

"Sure, let me help you in. We'll get you somewhere, I can't leave you stranded," Alice says. "I have to run this package up the driveway, be right back."

Alice's tight little buns look very nice in her work pants, worn shiny and thin in the seat from sliding in and out of her van with every delivery.
