Chapter 8 by Ben Rosewood Ben Rosewood

What's next?

A woman approaches Morgan

The crowd soon dissipates. All except for one. She appeared about a decade older than me and she oozed elegance, from her tall, sender frame, to her dress to the confident smile on her face. She had hair that was a similar length to mine but auburn in color and hazel eyes that burned with devious energy.

"You enjoy yourself?" She asks.

"Y-yeah. I sure did."

"I'm Iris."

"Morgan."

We shake hands.

"No need to be so nervous. I enjoyed your little intervention on my little project."

"Oh. She's your model?"

"You could say that. How about we talk about it over lunch?"

"Sure. Would you believe I was actually looking for a place to eat before I ended up here?"

Iris smiles. "Guess you found more than you bargained for, huh?"

"Oh, I sure did."

Iris leads me to the exit. "You on a work break?"

"I am actually."

"That's alright. I know a good Banh Mi place nearby."

"Perfect."

I follow Iris to the restaurant she had suggested. As we waited for the food, I asked Iris "So what kind of art do you do?"

"All sorts. Paintings, sculptures, photos, and I suppose what they call social experiments."

"Been doing it all your life?"

"Sure have. What about you?"

"Oh I'm more of an art appreciator than an artist."

"Nothing wrong with that."

"So, what did you want to talk about?"

"Well, I really enjoyed your little interview and I was wondering if you would be free this time next week?"

What does Morgan say?
