A week later

It's been a week since you had giftwrapped the reclusive mob boss to agent Walker. You haven't heard from her since, but you decide to give her some space and time to think. In the meantime, you have continued your vigilantism. You've gotten a lot better at it too, making sure to restraint criminals already caught on camera, at the scene of the crime or with witnesses. In almost all those cases, the police show up and are pleasantly surprised although nobody can explain what's going on. As far as you can tell, the authorities are just taking credit for your work publicly while puzzling privately about how the criminals are being caught.

Currently, you're getting dressed in your room at the estate for your nightly patrol. The evening news is on your tv and 1 story peaks your interest. It's a report about the mob boss appearing before court today to face charges, and a press conference after that where the mayor praises the FBI for a good job. You see agent Walker standing behind the mayor looking serious. You're about to teleport away to 1 of your regular spots for spotting crime, when you hear a phone ring.

You look at your cellphone but it's not ringing, and it takes you a few seconds to realize it's your burner phone. Quickly grabbing it off the nightstand, you teleport away to the top of Mount Rushmore so that the call can't be traced to the estate.

"Yes?" you answer the phone on the last ring.

There's a long pause on the other line before you hear agent Walker's voice. "Is this- well, what do I call you? I'm not calling you the Batman," she says.

"You can call me... The Ringer," you say. It's the only name you can come up with even though you have given it a lot of thought in the past week.

"The Ringer? What does that even mean? Do you look like someone?"

"Don't worry what it means. It doesn't matter anyway since it's only between you and me. So, agent Walker, why are you calling? I saw you standing behind the mayor today."

Again, there's a long pause before agent Walker speaks. "...I need your help."
