Chapter 3 by Raljo Raljo

How does it happen?

A week alone with Power Girl in the Watchtower

Wonder Woman and Power Girl waved off the ship, taking Batman, Superman, the Flash, and many others to a distant planet where they were needed. They would be back in seven days. With all members of the Green Lantern Corps on Oa for mandated biannual training for the next month, and a handful of other heroes assigned to protecting various cities during their absence, duty of presiding over the uppermost level of the Watchtower fell onto the shoulders of Wonder Woman and Power Girl - the only two heroes left unassigned with clearance to use the facilities in the most secretive part of the Justice League's orbital base.

Wonder Woman wore her usual royal Amazonian battle outfit - with a snug-fitting bustier, star-spangled panties that left her powerful thighs exposed, and tall red boots. On her head sat a tiara befitting her noble position. Her long, wavy black hair fell partway down her back. Power Girl's uniform was tight white fabric similarly exposing of the legs, but continued partway up the neck. Over her chest a large circular boob window was cut, exposing the deep cleavage of her titanic breasts, and over one shoulder was slung a pristine red cape. She wore tall blue boots on her feet, and matching blue gloves. Her hair was cut in a small blonde a-line bob cut.

It was going to be, for the most part, a boring week. With Supergirl looking after Metropolis, Power Girl had nothing to worry about besides extra cleanup and heavily superpowered threats. The same could be said of Wonder Woman. So the two were often stuck with these duties - tracking signals and ensuring that no intergalactic threats had their sights on Earth, and co-ordinating heroes on the ground level. This was the first time it had been just the two of them, however.

"Well," Power Girl said, looking over to Wonder Woman with a smile as the ship took off at high speed. "We've got a whole floor to ourselves, our own cafeteria, and seven days with nothing but each other's company. How should the two most powerful ladies on the planet pass the time first?"

Wonder Woman shrugged. "I can scan, if you're willing to handle ground co-ordination to begin with."

"Oh, come on!" Power Girl pouted. "Don't you want to have a little fun?"

"We have a job, Power Girl, and it's an important one."

"Fine." Power Girl pouted, crossing her arms and angrily dropping herself in the radio desk's chair. "But nothing ever happens up here anyway."

"Don't tell me the second most powerful lady on the planet is afraid of a little hard work?" the seasoned hero teased.

Power Girl raised an eyebrow in offense. "Second?"

Wonder Woman gave a quick laugh, then looked over and realized Power Girl was being serious. "Well... yes," she said slowly. "I was a founding member of the Justice League. It's nothing to be upset over."

Power Girl kicked against the desk, moving her wheelie chair back a bit before stepping out of it. "I bet I can kick your ass!" she said, suddenly excited.

Wonder Woman saw straight through it. "Power Girl, please." she said. "You're not getting out of monitor duty."

Power Girl sat back down in her chair with a pout. "Aww." she complained.

A short time passed. The scanners in front of Wonder Woman picked up nothing, and no radio calls or reports came to Power Girl's radio. Power Girl snuck a quick glance towards Wonder Woman.

"... hey." she said. "Do you really think you're the most powerful woman on the planet?"

Wonder Woman sighed. "Power Girl, I meant no offense, it was just a stupid comment. There's really no way to know. We're probably about the same." she reasoned. Power Girl could tell she didn't really believe it - she was just trying to avoid a situation that would interrupt their monitor duty.

"... so, if we're about the same..." Power Girl said, slowly. "Then-"

"Power Girl. Stop." Wonder Woman tried to cut her off.

"I bet I could put you to sleep."

Wonder Woman scoffed, and immediately realized that was a bad idea if she wanted to de-escalate. Power Girl was looking at her now, waiting for her to clarify what the indignant sound had meant.

"You couldn't." Wonder Woman said, deciding to keep it brief.

"I bet I could **** you out!" Power Girl added, feeling the situation starting to sway away from boredom. "If I got my hand on your neck, you wouldn't be able to stop me before I turned your lights out! It'd be goodnight Wondie. You wouldn't be able to do a thing to stop me!"

"Power Girl!" Wonder Woman barked angrily, her Amazon pride insulted. "You could not! I am the most powerful woman on the planet. Everybody knows it - the whole League knows I'm the strongest. I'm a founding Justice League member, and I am the queen of the Amazons. You're strong, but I'm a trained warrior. You were just a regular Kryptonian civilian. There is no comparison."

"It sounds like you're accepting the bet!" the spunky young Justice Leaguer sang. "Surely all of that warrior training means you've got some good defensive techniques to outdo my strength, right? Or are you scared?"

"Fine!" Wonder Woman spat. "I'll get your hand off of my neck, and then I want no more complaining about monitor duty until lunchtime!"

"And if you pass out, we get to do something fun!"

"Whatever!"

Both women rose from their chairs, Power Girl hovering slightly above the ground with an excited grin, Wonder Woman glaring up at her angrily. The League veteran lifted her chin, and allowed for Power Girl to place a tight hand around her long neck, not yet squeezing. Wonder Woman brought up her own hands and held them just above her collarbone, ready to wrestle with the Kryptonian's fingers once the squeezing started.

"Ready?" Power Girl asked eagerly.
