Chapter 183 by Leoblade24 Leoblade24

What is the next game?

A very wet game

“Now that the carts are put away, bring out the wheel!” Green Toad announced after a few minutes of the karts being disassembled and stored away. The event wheel floated over on a flying platform and landed in front of the audience stands. “Miss Starfire, since Miss Aelita spun last time, it's your turn. Please come on down!”

Starfire kissed your ear before flying down to the wheel. “You had them get the reinforced wheel right?” You whispered to Daisy.

“You know it.” Starfire grabbed a peg and spun the wheel with the eagerness of a shonen protagonist going against an apathetic/too-cool rival.

“And the next event is…is…is…” Green Toad trailed off as the wheel continued to spin and spin.

“Just hit it with something!” Daisy called out. Green Toad nodded and grabbed a nearby stick and tried to stop it, only for the stick to get stuck and send him flying somewhere into a nearby crowd of friendly orcs. It took a few minutes but the wheel finally slowed down and stopped.

“The–The next event is umm. “ Green Toad rubbed his eyes and carefully read the wheel. “Mushroom Mix-Up! To the swimming pool everyone!”

“Where’s the swimming pool?” Gwen Tennyson asked as the stands took off again and didn’t see anywhere nearby for a swimming pool.

“Where they keep the mermaids,” you replied as the stands turned around and flew to a distant section of the property. “We have to have the mermaids on the far side of the property since people would trespass to watch and try to ‘talk’ to them when they were audible from the street. The salmonoids occupy the old mermaid deep pools.”

“And they don’t mind us having these games in their home?” Marinette asked, clearly concerned.

“They love it, when I was younger they got my siblings and I to play their versions of the mini-games. It was a blast,” you say fondly.

“Especially when they fired us out of the water,” Starfire replied.

It seems Green Toad called ahead as the Mushroom Mix-Up platforms were already rising out of the water. “They are so beautiful!” Exclaimed Yunyun as schools of mermaids dove out of the water and performed dazzling flips and dances.

“I see they are almost ready to get sent to that water resort huh,” you say, observing the way their scales glistened in the sunlight and the ‘interesting’ ways they would move and flex to a tune you couldn’t hear yet.

“Think we can get a recording? They are so fresh!” Callie and Marie asked once we got in range and the mermaids’ song could be heard. It was a cheerful melody, like splashing in the waves at sunset, like catching a fish and showing it off before tossing it back with a snack, and like blowing bubbles in weird shapes underwater. At least that was the feeling you felt inside.

“I’ll see what we can do,” Daisy laughed before the stands hovered close to the multicolored platforms.

“Okay for the guests, I will explain the rules,” Green Toad announced.

“I think we all played Mario Party already,” Laura shouted at him.

“Let me do my only job please,” Green Toad cried before resuming his pose. “Stay on the section that matches the flag Blue Toad waves. Keep an eye on him as the flag will take in the blink of an eye. Stay on the wrong platform too long and it will drop. Pushing and shoving your opponents is fair game. Winner will be the last player standing. If everyone is left, it's a draw and if no one is left, it's also a draw.”

“Normally this game is four players but so more people can share in the fun, we can expand the platform a bit for a five version five,” Daisy remarked. “With how impatient James and his siblings got in the past we’ve even had to do twenty player versions some days.”

“I can imagine,” Aelita commented. “We pick which of our teams will participate now, correct?”

“Correct Pink Angel,” you replied as Aelita got up to go converse with her team with Starfire flying over to her team. It was only a short wait before the ten lucky ladies volunteered.

At the same time, somewhere else in town in a shady building.

“What the fuck do you mean he survived?!” A sleazy man shouted as he threw a tequila bottle at a wall startling a caged and muzzled Sam Manson from Danny Phantom. This Sam had small fangs and was slightly paler than a standard Sam Manson. Also in the room was a cowering Prime Worlder wearing looser clothing and jeans.

“Forgive me sir, I’m just telling ya what the contacts are telling me. Rein Corp, some company called Inhuman Generics, and even those 3S bastards spent a whole week looking for him,” the henchman reported. “They got him back and apparently found him in a hundred character orgy.”

“You stupid fuck!” The henchman ducked as the sleazy man fired several shots of his revolver. Sam curled up into a ball as a bullet ricocheted off the thick bars of her tiny cage. “I let you borrow my ace in the hole, promising that the little fuck would end up a fireball where no one would find him. And you have the audacity to tell me he was having an orgy.”

“I’m sorry, I thought the Andy from would be able to fuck his shuttle enoug…”

“Andy…” the boss snarled. “What kind of Andy? Toy Story Andy? Parks and Rec Andy? I could understand a Andy Griffith getting the job done.”

“A Parks and Rec Andy, sir, I’m so sor…” The henchman froze as his boss hovered his hand over a button. The henchman got very aware of the glass floor and the large shadowy form circling in the water underneath.

“I wouldn’t trust a Parks and Rec Andy to take my pets for a walk,” the boss growled. “I wouldn’t trust him to feed them properly. I wouldn’t trust him not to leave the bathroom light on! And you wasted the use of my trump card on getting one to try to make it look like an accident!”

The boss took several deep breaths, “give me one reason not to feed Crocy right NOW!”

The henchman held up a large card he pulled from his pocket. On the card was the phrase ‘We cordially invite you to the wedding of James Gardner, Aelita Schaeffer, and Starfire!’ and cartoonish pictures of the three inside a heart. “Their wedding is in a couple days and maybe…”

“What? We show up and kill them?” The boss’s hand moved closer to the button. “The punk will have security all over the place, we would lose everyone just trying to get close.”

“Well…” The henchman looked around for an answer before glancing at Sam. “Maybe a gift from an old friend should get through?” The boss stared at the henchman for a few seconds before he put away his gun and closed the cover of the button.

“This is why I push you…”

“Move it thunder thighs!” Mirajane shouted as she shoved Erza to the side.

“No how about you move it you stupid witch!” Erza shouted back as she got locked with Mirajane on the same platform.

“Not enough room for you bubble butt!” Ranko shouted as she ducked under the clashing Fairy Tail Wizards while trying to avoid a web from Spider-Gwen. It didn’t help that the mermaids were shooting water up at the platforms, making everything slippery; it was definitely not how the game was usually ran but no one cared.

“Who are you calling bubble butt?!” Mirajane and Erza shouted as they punched at Ranko only to punch the innocent Marinette who had just recovered from a stun by Suki.

“Different platform!” Alex called out as she hopped on Katara’s head to try to jump to the correct platform only to get her foot grabbed by Ino. Both teams, in their rush to run over, all grabbed and pushed each other until they all tumbled into a pile.

“That looked like it hurt,” Green Toad commented. At that exact moment, Blue Toad changed the flag again. The teams looked down at their heavily shaking platform for a moment, when…

Who wins the Mushroom Mix-Up Mini-game?
