Chapter 3

What's next?

A surge of gratitude

As Calliope knelt beside him, she couldn't help but marvel at the sight before her. Euryalus's muscular body was a work of art, his skin bronzed and glistening with sweat. She could feel the heat radiating from his body, the muscles beneath her hands tense and alive with energy.

As she dipped her fingers into the jar of ointment, the fragrance of herbs and oils filled her nostrils, calming and soothing her senses. She spread the salve over Euryalus's wounds with a gentle touch, her fingers dancing over his skin with a practiced ease.

As she worked, she couldn't help but notice the way his body responded to her touch - the way he seemed to relax and let go of his pain, surrendering to her skilled hands. She could feel the power of their connection, the way it seemed to flow between them, strengthening and deepening with each passing moment.

And as she looked into his eyes, she saw a glimmer of something that she couldn't quite name - a sense of vulnerability and trust that touched her deeply. In that moment, she knew that she would do anything to protect him, to keep him safe and by her side forever.

For Calliope, Euryalus was more than just a wounded warrior - he was a symbol of hope and possibility, a reminder of the beauty and strength that lay within all living things. And as she worked to heal him, she felt a sense of purpose and joy that filled her heart with light and warmth.

He watched in amazement as the cuts and scratches began to heal before his eyes. The pain ebbed away, and he felt his strength returning.

"You have a gift," he said to Calliope. "How did you come by such power?"

Calliope smiled. "We nymphs have been blessed with many gifts, including the power of healing. It is our duty to use these gifts to help those in need."

Euryalus felt a surge of gratitude towards Calliope. She had saved his life, and he owed her a debt of gratitude. He thanked her and vowed to repay her kindness in any way he could.

As they talked, Euryalus learned more about Calliope. She was a nymph of the woods, tasked with protecting the creatures that lived within its boundaries. Her beauty was legendary, and her voice could charm even the most stubborn of beasts.

Euryalus found himself drawn to her, fascinated by her stories and her gentle spirit. As the day wore on, he found himself wishing he could spend more time with her.

"Will you stay with me?" he asked her, hoping against hope that she would say yes.

Calliope looked at him with a mixture of sadness and regret. "I cannot, warrior. My duty lies in the woods, and I must return to it soon."

Euryalus nodded, understanding the weight of duty all too well. "Will I see you again?" he asked, hoping that the answer would be yes.

Calliope smiled, and it was like the sun breaking through the clouds. "Perhaps," she said.
